Default Aussie Locker guys

Hey, the shop is trying to tell me that a Lockright locker in the frt is gonna make noise all the time. Does your Aussies make noise? Sounds like a dry bearing/ chain rattling noise after 30mph in 2wd. The output pinion flange has about an inch of play, or 10-15 degrees of rotation before it stops, does your Aussie do this? I think I'm being fed a line of crap. They said they called Richmond and it was within tolerence. Please give some feed back on your Aussies, I don't think Lockright is right for the JK.

Drove like it was engaged all the time, and clicked and clanked more than I wanted.

The Aussie and the lockright are almost exactly the same in design. They are telling you that the Aussie wouldn't make noise but the Lockright would? Both will click and clank when you turn sharply.

I wouldn't mind the clank when turning sharply, it's making noise when I go straight.

Pretty much the same thing. I don't see how one could be better than the other?

Just to be clear, the aussie, and other lunch box style lockers should NOT make any noise in 2 wheel drive.

In 4 wd, when traveling straight, there should be no noise, when in a turn and one wheel needs to turn faster than the other, you will here a distinct ratcheting noise, in the aussie at least its not that loud and barely even audible inside the jeep.

I hope you paid for it with a credit card. If so dispute the charge. I'd can it if I were you and put the bucks towards an ARB.
