I have an Aussie in my DD, no problems at all (in fact, i believe it is the first official JK specific Aussie on the street).
Waiting for this winter, but figure as long as I know it's there, and the potential issues, I'll be fine.
Yes, it will clunk a little on TIGHT turns (think u-turn on a 2-lane road, or parking lot stuff), but otherwise you'll never remember it's there.

If you're thinking about the rear...get a selectable locker. You'll wear out tires in a hurry being always locked in the back end on a DD.
