thats what im worried about...if i go to the dealer and they see its lifted that theyre gonna wanna go into a whole process to see if the lift caused the problem. knowing big companies they'll find a way to prove it was to save them from free work

Transmission limp-in mode is where the transmission is limited to P-N-R-2, in the event something has failed. This allows you to still be able to move the vehicle.

When disconnecting the battery, always disconnect the negative terminal.
Applying tools to the positive terminal when the negative is still connected, can result in a spark/explosion if the tool hits a ground point while touching the positive.

In that case, you are canceling the lifetime warranty yourself.
Why wouldn't you want to see if they fix the transmission? The worst that can happen is they say no, which you sound willing to accept if you don't let them see it.

Update: so this morning I drove to work in limp-mode, about 60 miles (my beater honda is broken). Which was not fun. I got to work at 8 and took off the negative terminal and let it sit all day. When I left for the day around 4 I connected the the terminal and started driving. Much to my suprise it was shifting fine. Once I got on the parkway I was sure it would slip or shift hard and go back to limp mode...it didn't. I was able to do 70mph all the way home...that was babying it. I'm thinking/hoping everything cleared itself up like the first time

I'm all for wishful thinking, but you've got a problem IMO. Unplugging the battery every time is only a band-aid fix. Next time it happens maybe write the code down before you clear it. I am with the guys saying you should bring it to the dealer and at least see what they say. You really aren't gaining anything by not going there and you may end up doing more damage, which in the end will = more money and even less a chance they will warranty it.

I just got my Jeep back this afternoon. Replaced torque converter. Pretty much everything that can go wrong in the tranny has been replaced over these 2 visits. The Dealer hasn't even mentioned the lift. The first time I asked if I needed bigger gears in the diffs (for the 35's), and he said the Rubi gears can handle it no prob. I hope you get it worked out with no drama.
