Bare minimum needed for 37's?
No. Not if you are just cruising around the street. If you decide to wheel it could slightly rub the end caps of the rear bumper at full flex. Mine did before i removed the bumper but the rubbing was very minimal.
Give a shout out to Planman. He can povide you with much information. He also have a thread as well about it.

You'll need to adjust your steering stops, run 4.5" or less backspaced wheels, trim the front edge of your rear fender wells, and if you have a Rubi, cut 2" off the back ends of the stock sliders.
Your tires will not clear the stock front bumper. You either need an aftermarket front bumper to to cut a stock front bumper to a stubby.
You will not be able to offroad without severely rubbing your stock flares.
If you are only driving on the street in 2wd, the gussets won't matter.
You should not try to put a 37 on your factory tire carrier.
To run stock flares with 37s and no body lift, you need 4" front and rear extended bumpstops if you are going to go offroad. Usually, you do not want to extend your bumpstops taller than your lift because you lose more than factory suspension uptravel.

Hey man, I remember you from the white jeep thread....I am working my way to 37's and its not cheap. I would advise to take your time and only spend your money once. I went with 33's and 2.5" lift in the beginning, and that lasted a whopping 5k miles. I have 35's on now just to keep me happy for a while why I get everything in line. Just buying tires to hold you over can be a $1500-$2000 spend, but it would be better to do that than try to get to 37's in one week. Here is what I have done to give you an idea...
1. Rear bumper and tire carrier
2. Re gear to 4:88, diff covers
3. Sold my 33's on factory wheels and got 17x9 wheels with proper back spacing and 35x12.50 tires
4. Teraflex sleeve and gussets to my front axle
All of that plus some install labor was close to $5500 roughly. The only install I could do myself there was the rear bumper, labor was $75/hr on everything else.
Now what I am doing next...
5. New front drive shaft
6. 4-4.5" lift kit, or replace springs and control arms...either way it will be close to the same
7. New longer shocks
8. Finally...37" tires!!!
It's a long, expensive road...just want to prepare you. Like I said. I wasted at least $3000 on a 2.5 lift, shocks, tires, and wheel spacers, then chose to spend $1750 on 35" tires to hold me over. Learn from my mistake an save yourself the $5k and do it right the first time. Buy what you like and will be happy with...just my .02
