i can tell you first hand that the spyderlocks are good wheels. as for the guy back in post 18 you can run any bead lock down to 8 psi or less. that is why we have bead locks. as for the rings in black they look great but they show the scratches bad. as you can see. this was my first trip out with them.

it is a little funny that you mention the inserts coming out. i just took off all the lead weights today and then the bead lock rings so i could put in some air soft pellets to ballance them. i did have a problem with the inserts backing out. i found that you should take out all the bolts but one. then put the ones on each side back in and remove the middle one .none of the inserts will come out that way. this may have ben because i used blue lock tite on all the allen bolts. i think that they just didnt put enough red lock on the inserts when they installed them at spyderlock.

was it a big deal? not really. would i buy them again? sure would i love these wheels.

as for american rock rods (spyderlock) i have to say cliffton (the owner) is a good guy and will stand behind his products. i have one bent wheel out of the 5 i recived and didn't notice this for about a month after i got the wheels was waiting for the jeep to come in and put my lift on and then about a week before i went to get a balance done (that is when i found out/ it was the spare or i would have noticed it). he is in the process of sending me a new wheel now and let me keep the bent one till the spare comes in (just in case of a flat). now that is customer service and that is what i like to see from a company.

every company will have a problem now and then it is how they handle it that counts.

Trail Ready are made in the U.S.

Three different outer ring options and two different finishes.

Those are sharp wheels. Do you have much of an issue with rock rash with them? If so, have you tried to touch them up? They look fairly new.

From my research I think that the Staun beadlocks are by far the best way to go (Appart from the Hutchinsons, although I hear they are super heavy). The great thing about the Stauns are that they barely add any weight, you can use almost any rim, they lock the inner AND outer bead, need no upkeep & you won't have issues with cops giving you a ticket. I love the XD addict rims, I can go buy 17x9s for $140 a piece online, then install the Stauns on their 4 for the price of 3 deal , works out cheaper & a better beadlock. I can't see why anyone would buy the mechanical option. I can only talk from research, Ive never had beadlocks so if anyone knows better from experience please chime in because I'd love to hear comments or actual experience with the Stauns.

as for the staun bead locks i would do some more research. i have read many posts on problems with them. you also have to have a shop install them or break your back with some irons. as for personal experiance i have none with them.

Stauns don't work out cheaper as everyone that I know bought stauns first then switched to mechanical beadlocks, due the stuan unreliabity and high puncture rates. If they bought the mechanicals first they would have saved money.
The biggest problem with stauns is your relying on air pressure to hold you beads on! They puncture too easily and suddenly both you bead are unlocked with out warning, this can't happen with mechanical beadlock.
With the stuans its recommened that you replace you tubes 12 months to try help reduce tube failure .

Also read wide tyre help on the bottom right of this page.

I LOVE Jeeps beadlocks... very pricey tho.

second choice AEV Beadlocks.

I am way cheap tho. I spent $40 on my wheels (15" Cragar soft 8's)
