Best Tires for Stock Rims on 08 Sahara Unlimited
I always liked the look of a smaller wheel with a bigger tire combo like 15 for 33" or 16" for 35 but thats just personal tase. I got 16" with 33" only because i thought i would have a brake problem with 15"s but i see on pics all over this forum that is not the case
I am getting a 09 Sahara JK and have been told the stock rubber is junk. When I get around (afford) to replacing them can I go with something like:
Size: 285/65R18
PRO COMP All Terrain Radial Tire or
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO or
Michelin LTX A/T 2
with Spidertrax 1.5" Wheel Spacer Kit
I am interested in using the stock rims, have no interest in lifting right away etc. So the big question is does anyone like these tires for this situation, or should I give up on this dream because they will be rubbing in all the wrong places.
Thanks.

I really am just wondering if I can run tires that big on an almost stock set up (with the spacers) without having problems. I would rather have good tires from the get go than do a half assed lift with crummy rubber.
I also want time to think out my long term goal and plan wisely so I don't do something that compromises the natural performance that I just have to turn around, rip out and throw away. I have been down that road before and it isn't my idea of a good time, nor money well spent.
Thanks.

Clearly he wants to know what he can put on his stock wheels and not what are all the alternatives, money and change are no object. He specifically wants to know what he can get away with on the stock Sahara 18" x 7.5" rims.
I had Bridgestone Dueler Revo's on my former vehicle and I was extremely happy with their performance. Great traction on the rocks, got through mud my friends bronco with BFG AT's bogged down in (granted alot has to to with the driver), quiet on the road, extensive siping for wet weather and good tread life. I replaced them with Nitto terra AT's and they were no comparison to the Bridgestones. Few seems to be running them on here but its worth checking out.
I'm running the 305/65/18 BFG All Terrain KO on my stock Sahara rims. I did have to install 1 1/2" spacers for clearance. I do have a 2" FT BB lift - but seems to me you could run these tires with no lift. They are 33.8" tall. aren't the Rubicon tires nearly 33's?
