Installed Goodyear MT/R 275/70 R18 with Kevlar last week with no lift needed on my 2009 JK Sahara. These tires are 33.6 diameter, and they add 4.5 inches in circumference over what the 255/70 R18 Bridgestone Dueler ATs measured.
4.5 inches does not seem to be much, but you can feel the effect of the gear ratio change. One very positive note about the tire upgrade is the JK feels much more stable on the road.

Nice to know about the feeling of less power off the line though. Do you get better mileage on the highway? How much is the speedo off?
I've been thinking of going to the GY DuraTrac 275/65R18s. Same diameter as the stockers and better performance in every catagory except off road compared to the new GY M/T W/Kevlar. They also fit the rim width properly and have a more aggresive look than the stockers for sure. I actually like the look of the sidewall better than the Kevlars too, but thats just me.

"the JK feels much more stable on the road" I find that hard to believe. The only aspect of the new GY tire that should be better than the stock Duelers would be the OFF ROAD performance. There is no way they could be as good in dry pavement handling, wet pavement traction and snow traction which is where the daily driver tires spend most of there time. Any percieved improvement of stability has to be in your increased confidence.

The Goodyear website rates the DuraTrac better than the Kevlar in every catagory except off road where the Kevlar is rated a 10 and the Duratrac is rated a 9. So since the OP wanted a more aggresive looking tire for his stock rims I would go with the DuraTrac if most of the time is spent on the street and the Kevlars if you like to play on the rocks and in the mud. Just my $.02

Good point. 275 vs 255 width is about 3/4" wider, however with all the voids between tread blocks you will still have less rubber on the road I would think.
