My experience with smittybilt was terrible. It was a PITA to get their stinger onto my YJ. But granted, it was enough to turn me off. Never heard any fitment issues with ACE rails. Never. Know a few guys that run them personally

How do the src rails with the step mount on the 4 door & how are they on rocks.

Also how do the ace rock rail mount?

I don't do alot of rock crawling but if I ever do I want to be able to have durable product that will hold up

I don't think this is a manufacturing problem. Because these attach to the frame, I believe there is a bit of variability in the vehicles themselves. Here are a couple of pictures.

I am considering the same step/rock rails... I have a question for you. Are the holes for the step plates pressed upwards to give them a grip or just stamped out? All of the pics I have seen lead me to believe I would want to put grip tape on the steps to reduce slipping.

Default Src rock rauls

I started to put these on tonite. You guessed it, drivers side wouldn't line up. Too late to get dremel tool out. Will do and post pics tomorrow. They do look great as I HOLD them up. Wife's likes the perceived functionality as she will be able to get in much easier.

For all the trouble why not buy American made products that fit and last. Those smitty's don't appear to have the quality or quantity of mounts seen on LoD, EVO, ...For $200 more you can get serious guards that you can count on if you are going near the rocks. If you are just looking for fancy nerf bars for cruising to the grocery store, smittybilt is probably fine.

x2 on this. Their shit sucks for real. I had the SRC rockers and not only did it take hours to fit them, but it also took a ton of grinding. I finally just pulled them off and trashed them.

I returned a set of these too after finding the ridiculous amount of porosity in all of the welds plus the fit was very poor.

They're made in China, I believe...

I was even looking at their winches for the front and rear of my JK but believe I'm going to save up the money for the Warns as from what I've read, they are assembled in the US albeit made with parts from all over but I'd rather give US the money!

I have the shittybilt step/rockslider also on my 4dr and yeah they suck. Took 2 hrs. to install them, yeah they look cool but the design is bad and some of the welds aren't complete. I thought about the ace ones but I didn't like how low they were when installed and you could see the pinch seam which is lame, yeah you can fix it.... With rubi rails. I know the $$$$ isn't close but here before too long it's LOD for me, anybody wanna set of shittybilt for a good price???

But the fit was HORRIBLE on the passenger side! The front holes did not match up with the factory holes...and I could barely get in sucker in! I had to clean up some of the left over welds on one side with minor filing and buy smaller bolts to get a tight fit. I sent them an email and got no response so I had to share with fellow JKers.

I looked at getting some Smitty rocker guards awhile back. From looking into customers experiences and feedback, a good 98% had one side that would not fit and needed some adjusting. I ended up going with a different rocker guard because of all the bad experiences.
