Bikini Top for a 4dr.
I don't really see the need for a bikini top if you have a soft top. How much difference is there between the bikini and the soft top w/ windows removed? I like the idea of quickly putting the soft top down and back up if it starts raining.
I'm with you brother. They are made in the same factory and the difference between the two are unbelievable. Maybe the Bestop bikinis are made by the trainees, when they graduate they go on to make the Mopar's?
I don't really like the way it looks with the soft top and windows off, i like the look of the top ending and then just the roll bars slanting down.
I think that you mean the Sun Bonnet. Terrible name for a great product. I've owned both the hardtop and softtop versions. Get the softtop version if you have door surrounds/frames. But the hardtop version works well, too. It does, however, have large openings between the top of the doors (when installed) and the roll bar that is open to the wind/rain.
Also, for OP, there are actually quite a few very informative threads about this subject. Try some searches on "safari top". There is tons of info, like the differences between various years, Mopar and Besttop, the various Windjammer configurations, making a four door waterproof, etc. Trust me: Tons of info on this subject that would take dozens and dozens of replies in this thread to adequately cover.

I had the Bestop bikini, within the first week two of the Velcro straps tore off while driving around. The top made horrible flapping movements and noise at any speed. You also have to purchase one of header attaching bars from be stop separately too, which is also kind of cheap.
Purchased the Mopar sun rider (the one used without door surrounds) from the dealer. Better material, better construction, comes with a header bar attached, still just a couple bucks more than the Bestop, but had I just purchased the Mopar in the first place.........well you get the idea.

They changed the soft top design to have no tuck tabs needed, so the Mopar bikini top options are tuck tabs with no place to put them, or the roll-bar, no soft top hardware option, but that will just drain water inside the door area if it rains.
They need to make one for 2010+ that has a cord in it like the softop does now.
I have a 2dr, I'm not sure how bad the 4dr is, but I had a safari top and did everything to get the flapping to stop and it just didn't work. I like the fact that it stops some of the rain from coming in but the flapping drove me crazy. I now have a spiderweb and I love it. It was a ton cheaper and works just as well, except for the blocking water part. And once it's on, you can leave it for the summer since it allows you to put the top up/down.
