Thats not to say cross drilling is ineffective though, just that cross drilled rotors have questionable longevity.

There is always a safety margin engineered in parts designed at the factory, but they are usually not 200%.

So why aren't the rotors cross drilled?
Cross drilling does not offer any performance advantage and increase chance of cracking and reduce overall mass.

$569.99
Any specs on braking improvements? i.e. 60-0mph/ft, etc. And, do they fit in a 17" wheel?

TeraFlex,

I am very interested in this brake up-grade. But I would like to do the Front and Rear at the same time.

1) Are the Rears out yet ?
2) Will the Front and Rear kit fit under the 17" AEV Pinter wheels ?
3) What about a price for everything ?

You are right, that is probably the reason, why other Fiats like the Ferrari 430 can offer them, but not the Jeep JK aftermarket products.

More expensive materials and manufacturing is required to produce those rotors, with the double expense of shorter longevity.

Maybe one day will get some trickle down technology from "La Forza".

ah, don't believe everything you read. Go check out the ferrari challenge cars and other top race cars. No cross drilling. Its for show and OLD technology. No performance advantage. They are prone to cracking under high temps, offer stress risers and if you use drilled rotors that are drilled after forging then they are much worse. The porsche stock rotors handle the holes pretty well as I have used them for many years on my race car because that is what was avail. No aftermarket solid rotors avail for my 993. They still cracked over time and are just not as durrable as a solid rotor. I now have custom brembo solid rotors with slots machined into them that serve the same purpose as the drilled rotors. Off gassing and cleaning the pad surface.

Manufacturers still use the drilled rotors because they look cool and perform fine for the street. Check out as many professional race cars as you can, and I bet you find very few if any drilled rotors these days...

Not a smart video as I think driving a race car on the street is stupid but here is a video of a modern Ferrari race car with some good video shots of their brakes. Just an FYI.

Here are mine:

13 inch rotor. Stock was 11.9 These are custom aluminum center hats with full floating design. Top of the line stuff. Could have gone bigger but these worked best with my stock caliper and pad sweep area. All custom cooling etc... Enjoy.

Brembos off an EVO? What are the coilovers and is that a orange brake cooling duct?
