Brakes...
My brakes are great! Zero complaints.
The spousal unit has a problem with them though... seems i applied them and her nose got stuck in her icecream cone.
huummpf... guess i should check them

I had exactly the same (in my 07 Unlimited), very poor performance. The dealer replaced the master brake cylinder last week. It's much better now, at least the pedal is not spungy anymore, but it still doesn't compare to my 07 Grand Cherokee.
Update: a few weeks later now, the brake booster is leaking. Will be replaced soon, hopefully braking improves (plus the vacuum noise should disappear as well).

My question is my brakes always squeal
In the shop three times, first time was for a clean up of get this the dealer said it was because of rusting
I said are you kidding we live in Canada,it rains
The second time was for new brakes that was good for a while then started to squeal again
The third time was for new rotors that lasted for a while again
Not sure what to think, with the 35" tires I really have no problems of stopping but was wondering if anyone else has had this happen?
What have you guys run for aftermarket?
Is it Mopar

I was kind of thinking the opposite about the brakes on my JK (4-door), and I don't even have any heavy aftermarket add-ons. The brakes on my TJ were much more powerful. When I got the JK, I just thought the brakes were a little weak due to the fact that it is a heavier vehicle. The brake pedal is halfway to the floor before I really even feel anything, and I have to really stomp on the brake if I need to stop quick. I have an auto, and I've learned that when making a fast stop from a high rate of speed, I need to downshift into 2 at the same time I hit the brakes. I never had to do that in my TJ.
I've heard that a few guys have had problems with the brakes right out the door from the dealer. Have them checked out.
I think a larger rotor with some different pads would make a huge difference off road and on. Off road I have encountered quite a bit of mushy pedal from overheating. If someone could recommend a new pad and rotor combo that would be great.
P.S. 37's on 17" wheels about 100 pounds per corner.

D-60's come with break setups from 1500 dodge trucks. My friend(Dodge dealership tech) said that the D-44 at one time was offered in a full size truck and would have a larger break setup then our JK.

Bring it to the dealership. Ask them to take another unlimited for a ride. If yours is different. Then you my friend have a problem. Most likely with the brake booster or bad vacume. Spongy peadel could be just air in the brake lines. Have them blead. If you've ever heated up your brake fluid. Gravity bleed the system and keep topping off the tank. The fluid is never any good after it's been boiled. You can also switch to a higher grade brake fluid. A bad master cylender also can cause spongy brake pedal.
I've been very impressed with the breaking ability in my JK. Even when towing a rediculious amount of weight.
So with the stock dana 30 up front that leaves the brakes from a 1500 pickup unuseable.
I had hoped that Baer Brakes would have come out with something for the JK but I guess their is just not enough interest....
