The gen 2 trackbars are pure beef and we have not had any issues with them .

How would one know if they had a gen1 version vs. the newer type? And, does this affect front and rear, or just front?

i just spoke to Dave at Northridge, which i still recommend doing, and he said that this is not an "epidemic" so to speak-he mentioned so far, that there's "10,000" of these on the road, and only a couple, (2-3) reports of failures. he recommended that i not panic, so i wont. but it would be wise to do your due diligence to make sure you contact him. i took a pic of my track bar, and emailed it to him at sales@northridge4x4.com and he's sending a new track bar out in the next few days.
Dave & Northridge are the shit. plain and simple. good luck.

Its just the front that has changed and it changed over a year ago. The old style has a big bend in it . while the new versions are thicker and straighter.

10,000 of them may have been a stretch LOL

For us Canadian's do we contact Stan and send a picture of our JKS bar so he can verify it's a gen1 or gen2?

So I'm guessing that the (PN) OGS121 from Northridge is the second gen? That's what part number came with mine but I've had it on my Jeep for 2 years now. So do I have an old one?
