Default Bump Stop Help

I have talked to Rock Krawler in reference to what bump stops to use with a 2.5" max travel, 5100 Bilsteins, and 33's. They advised me to use 2" ones front and rear. So I was looking at the JKS 2" aluminum spacers. This a good option to go with? Thanks!

Hockey pucks are usually free, exactly 1" and obviously "adjustable" by adding or subtracting more. They've worked great for me.

That link is just the spacers, designed to add on to other adjustable spacer kits. You'll still need to buy the longer bolts/washers/nuts/whatever.

I was looking at the Rokmen adj bumpstops, but for the price, I think I'll just run by a sporting goods store and go the hockey puck route.

So are the hockey pucks the correct diameter? I assume you just drill the center and buy new hardware to install them.

Hockey pucks will fail after a little while.

Up front, you'll need to drill a hole in the center of the pucks, and also in the center of the lower perch. Then use self tapping bolts (or tap the holes). In the rear, there are two bolts per bumpstop, with nuts underneath.

Front - teraflex lift install doc, steps 26-28

Rear - DIY hockey puck

And the adjustable bumpstops I was looking at before reading all the good reviews on hockey pucks. (nice looking setup, but $150 + $30 shipping for front/rear seems a bit steep. )

Nice info! I tried some searches, but came up short thanks for the links.

I was under the assumption than the spacers fit "under" the stock bump stop, not on the lower coil retainer.

Is the front and rear a different set up as far as the bump stop goes? Appears so.

There are stock upper bumpstops, but your link is for lowers, and all three of my links were for lowers.

For the uppers, Teraflex makes some extended bumpstops - steps 29-30 in the link above. (not sure if anyone else does?). You pull the stock bumpstop, jam it in the end of the extension, then spend an hour figuring out how to get the extension seated up in the cup. (probably not that bad, but quite a few posts talk about being frustrated getting them in).

For the lowers, there are no stock bumpstops. It's just a perch for the uppers to land on. Front lowers go inside the coils and the perch needs to be drilled. Rear lowers go outside the coils and the holes are pre-drilled. Just place the bumpstop on top and put the bolt through, then maneuver the nut into place underneath.

I had 2" bump stops that came with my kit installed. I just took them out yesterday. I'm going to flex it out more and see if I can break something.

2" is a lot of bump stop, is this because of over compression of the springs.

I have a 2" lift with the hockey puck for the front and a piece of 5/8 aluminum
block for the back. I do have a body lift maybe why it seems like a lot to me.

Front had to drill and tap a 5/16 thrd.

Back just drill out 2 1/4" holes with flat head
screws 3/4" long with nuts, painted black
