You don't roll them. You fold them. The instructions say four times. It won't cause any damage. It'll wrinkle, but not permanently.

yeah, they are stiff, but can folded (sorta rolled) up and then put into the bag.

Not really stiff here. It could be due to the temperature.

Yeah, the piece that goes into the lip on the body. I thought we were talking about the entire flap. That piece gets folded over and isn't a problem for the convert-a-top.

My JK just has the firm piece at the bottom, but you just fold that over a few times and viola! I have a normal soft top -- not a sunrider.

I have a sunrider too and the sailpanels are super rigid. Folding/rolling them seems like it's not possible.

EDIT: maybe the sailpanels are rigid on sunriders to prevent stretching when the sunrider is folded back, because there would be more stress on them from the excess wind??

I have sunrider and managed to fold/roll the stiff material up and get it to stay in the bag. It did take some serious effort though. This may not be good over time. Going to contact cloverpatch. Anyone have another solution for the flapping sail?

So with the sail in place you wrap some velcro straps around the sail to prevent flapping?. hmmm, seems like a better solution to me for the sunrider top. It really was a pain folding the stiff sail, the whole time I'm thinking this can't be right, but I figured since I never had a jeep before, maybe I was just going through the newbee pains.

Thanks

I'm with you...I don't see how they'll stretch given how stiff they are. I like your idea of wrapping velcro straps around the sails (to create the "vertical tube") to reduce what little flapping there is.

Mine showed up this monday. I put them on yesterday (as well as taking my doors off for the first time.)

I started with the left side, folded the panel 4 times like the instructions say, and stuffed it into the pouch. The top velcro strap holds fine untill I tighten up the bottom velcro strap. That is to say, the velcro holds, but the pouch pulls away from the folded panel.

The right side holds much tighter, but I cannot see what I've done different there.

Having driven about 30 miles yesterday, this morning I checked the fit and the right pouch was almost entirely off the folded panel.

I resecured them both, but don't expect them to hold any tighter today than yesterday.

Granted, there is no flapping sound from back there, so the job is being taken care of.

I do greatly enjoy the open feeling, much better with a top on and open sides than open all over, imo. I don't this this product lives up to my expectations however, and I will need to add some more velcro strapping / bungee cords to secure the folded panels to my liking.
