Haha. Actually, I could make 18s fit. The ORIs are more compact than coilovers. I wanted to keep my rear seat, so I had more issue in the rear making 16s work.

Ha mine was opposite i could fit 18 plus for days in the rear as its thru the tub but my front an 18 would would bind my pinion and id have to strap it. But i agree i could get 18 in front without going thru hood. The foa if i recall are a tad smaller than normal coilovers, probably similar to oris.

Say you have a 12" coilover mounted in a bolt on fashion... Wouldn't a 16" coilover mounted say 4" higher than the bolt on mount be the same??

Same same? But different!?

Axle can only go up so high before it starts running into shit.

Esplain it to me Lucy!!

Once you start installing coilovers, you notice that there are these big stupid coil buckets in the way. That's the major issue.

I almost put 18" Coil-overs on my jeep - but ended up just getting a 50" light bar instead. It's bad ass now!!

The bolt-on options don't get close to the axle running into stuff. Generally, to get a lift height you want, you have to run with less than ideal up-travel. Even a 12" coilover would work better mounted a little higher than the bolt-on kits have them.

With my setup, my axle gets within 2" of hitting the frame. I actually had to trim my motor mount on the passenger side as a control arm was hitting it.

I'm going to be installing coilovers in my jku soon and will only be going with 12s in front as I don't want to relocate anything in the engine bay but in the rear I will be mounting through the tub and was thinking about 16s but as you said there is room for 18s plus for days lol. I'll be sitting at about 4" lift with 6" up travel. Is there any point running more than 16s?

Nit with only 12" front imo. Id not go thru the tub if i were to do it again and id still fit 16s.front wise i had a 09 and didnt have to move much for 16s. I had to move abs, turn battery sideways, and run a cone filter.
