I have an Airaid CAI, I didn't notice any gain in hp or fuel economy but that could be because of all the add ons. It does sound good. The box was the perfect place to mount my air compressor for my locker.

I have the Airaid, it does about what I expected, which is boost throttle responsiveness in the 2000+RPM range. If you're looking for a surge in horsepower you won't get it from an intake alone. I wouldn't pay $250 for one, the only reason I bought the one I did was that I got it for $225 w/ a free TBS and free shipping, I sold the spacer on eBay to put my total investment around $150, which I felt was a fair investment. Down the road I'll probably go the snorkle route.

I did mine the cheap way. Went to autozone and got a universal intake pipe, and ordered a K&N filter from summit. I found a 2.75" to 3" 45 degree elbow adapter on ebay and mounted my intake temp sensor in that. I don't know if it helped my mileage or performance though, I hadn't went through my first tank of gas yet.

I have the AEM. I picked up 1-2 MPG, better throttle response, and it was easy to install. I like the sound it makes when you step on it. My next mod is going to be an exhaust.

Some of the guys bring up a good point about water crossings, but if that is something that you're not going to do, then don't worry about.

The reason is because the stock air box can already flow more than the stock engine can use.
Interesting, but some Jeepers say that they also save gas...is it true?

I bought the S&B intake a while back and kept track of my mileage before and after. I hand calculated and always waited until I had less than a quarter tank. The average mpg for the five fill-ups with stock airbox were 15.3, 15.5, 15.7, 15.5 and 15.4. The four fill-ups after installing the S&B were 16.3, 16.8, 16.4 and 16.6.
I gained around 1 mpg so at this rate, the S&B will pay for itself in about a year.

I had no measurable increase in MPG from the intake, but I already get very good results, 20-21mpg in the summer with the top on.

I really like the K&N Cold Air Intake, very easy install maybe 1/2 hour
A little expensive but I got a great deal and it does make a difference, not much but it takes care of the little lag at the bottom of the pedal,it will give a little more pick up in each gear and sounds great
