Speaking of CAIs. After installing one, did anyone get a check engine light code? I have seen other vehicles throw out that code once an aftermarket intake was put in....I saw this S&B intake at Quadratec website. It looks pretty well made and the filter is enclosed in a see thru housing. Any toughts on this? Thanks..

I put AFE's on both mine and my wife's JK. No lights and no codes. Also put catback's on both. The both run and sound great!

There is a sensor (I think it's an intake air temp sensor) that needs to plug into the tube between the filter and the throttle body. I wonder if folks are forgetting to plug that back in, or are damaging it during the install. That could make the CE light go on.

I've had my CAI on for a couple of months now and have had no issues. There are so many folks here with CAIs that it was a big issue you would see a lot of posts about it.

On the S&B, I can't understand why you would restrict the free flowing filter by encasing it in a restrictive box.

I put an aFe CAI on my Jeep JK and another brand of CAI on my wifes Jeep JK. I won't mention the other "brand" because the performance was far, far inferior to the aFe unit.
The aFe CAI provides excellent power and torque gains and sounds just right. I can see why they don't need to do much advertising and still remain the market share leader in these types of engine modifications. I would put the aFe CAI above any other on the market right now!

4wd.com is having a special deal where if you puchase an AIRRAID CAI ... they will throw in a free Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer ....

is that a good deal? .... is it a "worthy" additive?
