Confirm my thoughts?!
So with all the dealers in my area telling me they will void my warranty if I put C Gus's and Sleeves on my 2012 axle I decided to find a "workaround" to having to do this and want your guys opinions/pro's/con's/calling me a retard... whatever works.
From what I understand the C's and Sleeves are needed due to the extra weight of 35's. The following is the specs of the stock Wheels and tires from what i've found
255/75r17 - 43lbs tire and 25lbs wheel - 68lbs total
So to increase to 35's with minimal weight gain I can get a BFG A/T tire and 15" wheel
Most 15" alloys weigh in at 17-18lbs
35" BFG A/T is 54lbs
So... lets say 18 and 54 - 72lbs
That's only a 4lbs difference and I wouldn't think you'd need C's and Sleeves for that... Now from reading on this thread for months I understand you guys know every bolt inside your JK's and probably have thought of this too so you can probably just tell me im a retard and i'll man up and void my warranty (Even though I don't wanna!)
Is there any reason or reason not to go ahead with this?

If it was me I would go ahead and do the gussets. They aren't going to warranty an axle that is bent due to running 35's anyways, so either way they will try to blame it on you. I would rather have the axle reinforcement

I dont think the c's bend solely from the weight. If i understand correctly, the c's bending in relation to the size of the tire is due to additional leverage from the larger diameter.

A.) I would go to a different dealer (hopefully there are some that are more friendly to true jeepers not too far)
B.) I can't speak for everyone here, but I know several people who are running steel wheels on 35's and wheeling as hard as you can expect from a rig that size and haven't had any axle issues...I am sure that there are people who will say it needs to be done though.
Also did they say that it would void your entire warranty or just on the affected parts? At the very most I could see it voiding the warranty on the axles..that's it.
Good luck
