Just got in from driving jeep and the drivers rear tire is making a nasty clunking noise when i let off the accelerator, not touching breaks, just letting off. It still makes the noise when breaking???? but not when i accelerate. any ideas?

Have you removed the wheel recently? If so, double check your lug nuts. If one is loose, it can make this noise on deceleration.

Its not very common, but here is what I found working for Goodyear one day.

A woman ran over a small piece of piping/metal. It went in to the tire, but the tire leak was so slow that even a dunk test barely showed anything. After taking the tire off, we found the culprit. it rolled against the tire under centrifugal force. Once the wheel slowed so did the force and the object rolled around between the tire and rim like a quarter in a dryer.

Always make sure you double check your lugnuts after driving. They should have the proper torque applied. Get yourself a torque stick if you need to. then after a few short driving tips, recheck them. I doubt anyone would loosen them on purpose.

Tampering with a motor vehicle is a crime. Call McGruff if you find a culprit

That is weird. Good thing it didn't come off completely for your safety. Also remember to try lock-tight solutions. A little on each stud can ensure you don't have a mishap like that again. Inexpensive product to prevent an expensive disaster
