Many people do not have accurate torque wrenches. They drop them on the ground or store them at a high setting. This results in inaccurate torque measurements and the need to recalibrate the wrench.

Many shops do not use torque wrenches on anything other than lug nuts.

Many shops do not realize the JK lower control arm and trackbar bolts need 125 ft. lbs.

Many guys do not follow the instructions to re-torque their components after 50 miles of being installed.

Many guys do not retorque their components after every major wheeling trip, or if they have installed aftermarket parts, at every oil change frequency.

Then, people go to their shop or dealer, and the techs are too lazy or incompetent to diagnose and fix the source. So, they blame it on the steering stabilizer.
well all of that definately makes sense. people just rushing to get the lift installed and be done with it. when i work on my jeep, i love to take my time and make sure everything is done correctly. plus in the mean time of taking my time, i like to have a few brews and bs with my buddy. how long will the stock steering stabalizer last for? i'm in no hurry to run out and purchase a new one if it's not needed.

Yup, in particular, my front trackbar axle-mount bolt is notorious for loosening up while wheeling, and also after a bit of daily driving. Keep an eye on this bolt. It's the number one cause of DW. (I just re-tightened mine a few minutes ago on my lunch break.)

I've heard this from others so many times.

Well don't feel bad I just put the same lift on my 07 JK and I have the same problem. I had my wife order the lift through Jeff at Rough Country and got a discount. I am currently in Afghanistan so I had my wife take the lift to a Rough Country dealer hoping there would be no problems installing it, well the guy was pissed cause we didn't order through them. So when my wife picked it up and headed home she hit a bump around 55 and she said it felt like the front end was going to fall off. So she called them and they said they needed to align it, which was supposed to be done before we picked it up. So to make a long story short we now have it at a local tire shop trying to figure it out, they have loosened all the bolts on the lift and made sure they were tightened while on the ground, checked the alignment, the tires and they still have no clue what is wrong. I know I have been in contact with Rough Country and don't blame them at all, but they have been the biggest help. Rough Country's customer support is definitely top notch. Ryan from Rough Country has gone way beyond what he had to to help me out.

Did your wife get an alignment sheet readout? If so, see if she could post the specs

My death wobble was caused by a broken mounting on the upper end of my track bar on my FT Utlimate 3" kit. Could not see it the first time it happened but a few weeks later it was real bad on a washboard track. This time when cranking the steering lock to lock you could see it move and if you looked closely you could barely see that the upper part of the mounting loop was broke. No problems since welding on a doubler.

I am not sure if she got a read out or not, I will have to ask tonight when I can talk to her. If she did I will have her scan it in to the computer and email it to me and i will post it.

Thank you Jeeplease!

did the lift come with control arms? If not you need to buy a set of lowers and adjust your pinion angle. It does not however sound like death wobble to me, if the problem exists only when you rotated tires then you have a tire out of balance. A steering stabilizer will not fix the problem, it will only mask it. I second the motion on checking your torque measurements and loosen them while its on the ground and tighten them back up with the weight of the vehicle on the ground. Just so you know, if you ever have death wobble, you will know it. Your pants will be full of crap and you will have to bring the jeep almost to a complete stop for it to go away plus it can happen at just about any speed over 10 mph. good luck getting the problem fixed.

That's because we went with Rock Krawler bro! I set my lca to the specs that was in the directions, put it back on the ground and loved every minute of the drive!!
