The federal Govt looks at them as a "safety feature" just like an air bag or seat belt. If it is broken you are to repair it. Most tire shops are or will very soon be able to replace these on demand just like any other valve stem, just more expensive.

Kinda makes you glad you got an 07 instead of an 08 don't it. This thing could be a major PIA

Someday it will be illegal to go off road, just as it is illegal to lift your Jeep beyond 2 inches in some states. Which by default limits the amount of off roading one could do anyway. I imagine if you damage them you must get them repaired, or your insurance won't cover you if you get in a wreck. Remember a few years ago the Ford Explorer and Firestone tire problems? This is the result. Soccer moms can't check their own tires, cubicle dads don't have tools and so they leave it up to Father Government to make sure all is well. Good times!

Default 2007s have this?

Like someone posted earlier, do the 2007s have the TPMS??? How do I know if I have this in my Jeep?

If Im selling the stock wheels and tires and I do have this system, should I unmount the tires and wheels to keep the sensors?... since I got new wheels and tiires for my lift.

Thanks in advance...

One way to get around the TPMS would be to attach all 4 sensors to the inside of the Spare wheel and pressurize your spare to 35psi. It would be a pain to balance, but who cares. It's only the spare.

I like to run my toyos at 25 psi. The tpms dings every time I start out and the light is annoying. Sure would be nice to be able to calibrate these things...
