Do I expect too much

It seems like a pretty important place to tie into if you wanted to use the winch.

It slides into a pocket above the crashbar, into the side of the frame rail. It's the first piece you should screw in (loosely) once you line the bumper up with it. Check out the instructions on their site, it's steps 12 through 14:

Have to admit this thread has lowered my excitement on receiving my JCR Dagger stubby with loop and skid. Guess now I have to hope it all lines up and doesn't require a lot of work before paint? But also glad to see that if I have an issue JCR is going to stand behind it. I don't have high hopes of receiving it in perfect condition as UPS beats the shit out of everything I get. We'll see on ?Monday when it comes. Test fit won't be until next weekend though.
Wanted to circle back on this thread and post my experience. It's taken me many weeks to test fit, get it powder coated and finally installed. Sorry no pictures yet. Anyway, I have the stubby dagger with forward hoop and skid. I'd say it was packaged well and stood up to UPS abuse well. Sorry, but it's rare that I receive anything from UPS that wasn't abused. The bumper is solid. My test fit went well. Lined up perfect. I was able to get it powder coated locally for 175 including the skid. Shopped around and that was a good price. Actual install went well. I'll say this on the skid. Plan to rattle can the bolts to match your bumper. Also, get a buddy to help install. If he has smaller hands than you even better as getting the nuts on some of those skid bolts would of been a PITA otherwise. I'm very happy with the purchase. But, and I plan to call JCR about it, the light tabs on the hoop are not parallel. They are off by 1/8". I think I can even out the lights with washers, but feel it should be mentioned. There are those of us that will notice shet like that every time we look at it.
Bottom line. I will recommend JCR to anyone that asks. And I'll tell them Jason @ Krawl Offroad hooked me up on it.

Everything I ordered was RAW because this is the only thing they offered. So I new a head of time there would be the expense of Powder Coating. Even given there RAW state I expected no blemishes of any kind, what so ever. After dealing with two different RAW products, both from the high end and from the middle ground, there is no difference in the amount of clean up and prep you need todo. They only way I see this improving is with better quality control. I do however understand there is a demand for these products, as there should be. What many would have considered cheap as far as cost Or-Fab, I was impressed with. One thing I will add is Or-fab is not reinforced or gusseted in any way. Where JCR and PS are, so I can justify a cost difference there but that is about it unless you count the stacking dimes welds. Again I am happy with my setup, just fruit for thought for individuals thinking about certain products. I try to be fair and honest about my expectations and reviews. I am a person that expects someone to call when they say they will, to deliver on a promised product and date. Who also thinks if you say your stuff is the shit it better be. But we are all human and people do make mistakes, so there is always that second or even third chance to make it right.
