Default Drag link & tie rod upgrade

Hey everyone. I am looking to upgrade my tie rod and drag link. Can I get some recommendations.

Your profile doesn't list any mods. Are you currently bone stock? How do you use the jeep? The more info you can provide, the better the feedback.

My two cents:

For drag link, anything that's adjustable while on the jeep (which should be most if not all); also not sure what lift your're running or planning to run, but if you are, or ever think of going over 3", you may also want something that will give you the option to do a flipped drag link later on (also requires a raised track bar bracket as well). Really though, if you're not planning on a high steer/flip setup, sticking with an OEM draglink is fine. I currently run Synergy's drag link personally, which can be flipped.

For Tie Rod, just like my DL recommendation... get one that is adjustable while still on the jeep. I believe most out there are now as well... personally I'm currently running the Ruff Stuff Specialties one; it's beefy, it's cheap, and adjustable on the jeep. In the past I've also ran the first version of the Rock Krawler aluminum tie rod, which was great for those times when I bounced it off rocks, but it was a PITA to adjust as it couldn't be done on the jeep, and when I went hydro assist it would flex like crazy when turning (their latest version is now adjustable on jeep, but I don't know much about it beyond that). I'd also highly recommend Fusion 4X4's setup as well, they have a couple of beefy aluminum options (for which I'd go with the thicker one if you ever plan on going hydro assist down the road) - if/when I bend my Ruff Stuff bar, this is most likely the route I will be going.

Agree with all of the above. Knowing the intended use of the vehicle is helpful. Adjustability on vehicle is also key although I think almost everything is these days. I've seen many aftermarket tie rods bed after a good hit on a rock (Synergy in particular).... they also bend like a banana under the load of hydro assist. I'm running the 2.5 ton steering from Fusion 4x4 and bounce the tie rod off of rocks frequently and it just bounces back. Pure beef. My friends are also running it with hydro assist and it holds up perfectly with no deflection. If you wheel, make the investment in a beefy tie rod. You won't regret it.

The above recommendations are the same thing I kept hearing when I was looking to upgrade. Unfortunately they did not quite fit my budget nor did I see them as necessary with my driving style.

I opted for a Moog drag link and Spohn tie rod. I have been very happy with both and the Spohn unit is stout.

My DL is one of the last things to be upgraded. I just kept factory till the joint died. After that, I got the Moog mentioned in the post above to get me by. I've been waiting to truss my axle at which time I'll flip and upgrade the DL. That should be done in a few weeks. Depending on your current mods and budget, I'd focus more on getting a nice quality TR, and address the DL when the factory joint craps out. I presume you have a nice upgraded TB already since you did not mention that.

I was looking at Currie RockJock Currectlync Drag Link and tie rod to beef up my steering. I have a 2.5 inch lift with 35s.

I just replaced my stock tie rod with the Currie, great product! I bent my stock one, but so glad I did because my TRE's must have been worn out too because my Jeep steering is like new now.
