OP.......

I have been running woods shafts (1310)since 08. I have about 25K on them, I have not repalced any of the joints and regularly grease them. They have worked well for me from 37's now to 38's on beadlocks. The last 8k has been with a 5.7 truck hemi. I don't do extreme trails but run the majority of stuff here in CO and Moab. This is my hunting rig so it goes all over utah, monatana, colorado, and kansas.......it drives very well at 75.

Do the have a Weinerschnitzel at the mall? I'd like that more than a grilled cheese.

Wol, while you may or may not have said a certain part is Chinese junk you have gone out of your way to state your opinion and even ended with with referring to their product as a potential pothole. Planman has stated he thinks both companies make good products and actually has put fact behind it. I am in the process of looking for new DS and have found his opinions very helpful. And wol, lets not lie everyone is about making money.

^^^^Guess I missed Planman's post with metallurgical and batch failure sampling studies of the various universal joints available on the market. Oh wait, that's right, he never made such a post so I'm not sure to what "facts" you are referring. Planman has his opinion based on what he has seen, heard and used, and so does WOL. Believe what you want to believe, no one is stopping you. But stop turning this into something it's not. WOL has never said don't run Woods shafts, he has just recommended that you get them with Spicer or Neapco joints...big effing deal...Woods can sell you those joints. This has nothing to do with sponsorship because as between Spicer, Neapco and Woods guess which one is a sponsor? Oh, that's right, none of them.

Digest all of the available opinions, do your own research, and make your own decision like you actually have a pair.

Lol, I don't want to jump in the middle here but you need to re read this thread. Planman is the one who started referring to the whole pot hole thing. Personally I have a TW on my XJ and it works great. When I needed some for my JK I did some research and while the TW was great 13 years ago I found that their newer stuff was lacking (insert fanboy bs rant now). This was my own research, not ANY input from WOL or this forum. I went with Tatton and can't be happier.

while I"m hesitant to post in here for obvious reasons.. after reading a majority of this thread and the Project-JK write-up on the 1310. i noticed there were statements about angles and measurements. Is there more to installing a drive shaft than the write-ups states.. lets say I do go with one of the above mentioned shafts and follow the write-up exactly. is that all i need to do?

I'll be eating a pan seared bread cheese thingy while I wait for a response..
