Well there 6* between caster and pinion angle.

0* at the flange means 6* caster.

Unless the reading is wrong something has been done to correct caster, especially if the jeep is lifted.

The BDS 4.5" lift has new upper and lower control arms that place the axle in the correct spot but they are not adjustable.

I misspoke the front of the BDS kit only comes with new fixed length lower control arms. The front upper control arms are the factory original.

I believe that if I buy the optional adjustable upper control arms that I can safely tilt the pinion angle to 3 degrees and put the new driveshaft at a better angle.

Ok... So generally the lowers are set to 23" to 231/8 to set wheel base and the uppers are used to raise the pinion or lower for caster.

I am assuming the lowers are at that (231/8") or close with the measurement you have.
I would still remove a arm or contact BDS. Check to see what they measure.

If the lowers are at 23" or so. Adjustable uppers will help get the pinion up.
