I can disconnect in 4-hi. That's the first thing I do after pulling the t-case lever.

I'm surprised about the 18mph club here.

I've run many trails completely disconnected in my TJ - no problems. I see lots of comments here but wonder how many of you have ever even driven without a sway bar connected? I also own a Rubicon JKU, which is why this thread interests me.

I see the bully dog programmer allows a 35mph auto connect/disconnect feature that may be more in line with what I believe as more reasonable.

In this thread I can't find any language on how to override the 18mph cutoff.

When we go to Moab, we usually spend at least a month there. With my past Sahara, I would undo the quick discos and air down, and pretty much leave it that way for the whole time we were there. If we would go to a trail that was far out of town, I would air up and connect. However, there are so many trails that originate within a few miles of town, it is possible to spend a lot of time there and not go over 45 or so.

That being said, there is no reason for the SB to be disconnected when going that fast. It provides a very unstable ride, and there is no need for that extra articulation going over 20 - or maybe even 10mph.

With electronic disconnects, once you start speeding up - off trail or fire road, etc - the disconnect will re-engage. Once you slow down for obstacles, you can simply push the button again.

The only reason I use to stay disconnected for any amount of time was out of laziness. It is not real fun to take a curve on the street while disconnected. Causes a bit of pucker. The e-disco is a great cure for my laziness.

Same, I my TJ and LJ disconnected as soon as I put it in 4WD. Doesn't get reconnected until I hit the pavement.

Seems easy enough to hit my disconnect button on my JK when I get under 18MPH again. The reason my TJ and LJ stay disconnected is laziness. I even had a broken sway bar link on my TJ for several months until I realized that the tire rubbing on my fender was because of the OEM sway bar link being broken. I guess I just got use to the body roll.

When mine is disconnected, it will reconnect at 18 mph, and disconnect again once below 14 mph, without any action from me.

I think I noticed this also, all this electronic stuff, I'm still figuring it all out. I just got the thing, and I'm use to toyota trucks and blazers with detroit lockers and no sway bars or anything electronic at all. This is a learning curve, thats for sure, but what I have figured out, I like it, especially the being in open diff.s and having the brake system not letting a wheel spin at all, its like auto lockers without using the lockers. I do this a lot and amaze people what the thing will do in 2wd.

BullyDog has a try before you buy program. If you search for a dealer near you they will be tagged as try before buy on BullyDog's web site dealer locator page. I just found one near me so I am going to try it out. Raises the lock to 30MPH.

Bumping for more info, I want to bypass the speed limit or override it at will
I just want full control of my jeep like using the lockers, sway bar, or bypassing esp with out a computer telling me if I can our not.....but the lazy factor of a rubicon is great (push button).
The only one I'm missing is the sway bar.
