On 2012s they come from the factory with a very flimsy skid - at least you get one. But after my buddy with a 2012 had to replaced his, since he tore it up WITH the factory skid on. I have replaced my factory skid with a MORE skid - thing is BEEFY and fits perfect!:

I bought one before I realized how cheap they were to replace and the fact the 2012 came with a skid... after seeing the OEM 2012 skid ripping a rear driveshaft boot on a lifted JKU it somewhat validated my decsion to buy it, but if I had a non lifted 2012 or a 2008-2011 I wouldn't bother... for the price of the skid you can replace the canister almost 3 times.

Knowing what I know now I would probably just relocate the OEM one before I bought another evap skid.
