OR-Fab Front Bumper Install Tips
Well, I have my new bumper on
Overall the installation went well. There was some snags along the way, mainly getting the bolts to go through the front of the bumper, the frame, and the winch plate side plate was easier said than done. In the end we discovered that a friend rocks up and down on the stinger, while you gently push the bolts in, that makes things a LOT easier. From looking at things the difficulty appeared to be the result of the frame's holes being ever so slightly non-aligned on the bottom versus top set of holes.

I also noticed that the fairlead bolts supplied by Smittybilt were too short to make it through the fairlead itself, and the OR-Fab bumper, and were therefore unusable. However, the extra bolts supplied by OR-Fab (seemingly for attaching your fairlead
) were too large to fit my hawse style fairlead...
So, without the fairlead on I didn't spool my synthetic line. I also have to figure out where to mount my auxiliary lights... for the time being I've cut them off.
I need to make a trip to Lowe's to look for bolts to mount my fairlead before I can finish the install.
Between removing the factory bumper, installing the winch, and install the bumper, it took me and a buddy approximately 5 hours start to finish.

Sorry,

Considering the fairlead was that only snag, I call that a success
The bolts I picked up a Lowe's were those zinc plated hex bolts. I went with a 3/8" OD and 1.25" length. I used a flat washer on the bolt head side, slide the bolt with washer through the fairlead and into the bumper. On the back side (bumper side) I used used the washers and lock washer supplied with Smittybilt but with a new nut (I wasn't sure if the thread count matched with my new bolt, so I picked up a matching nut for my bolt).
The big things here are, the 3/8" OD (which is the same OD as the Smittybilt bolts), but with a 1.25" length (which was the length of the bolts supplied by OR-Fab).

What you don't see (unless you look at the picture I just uploaded for Red) is that I've gone back and started covering the red and black winch lines in wiring conduit.
