Make sure you check your state driving laws. I know in some states if the vehicle came from the factory with a third brake light then you are required to maintain a working third brake light. I'd hate to find out the hard way about that...Especially after spending the money for the tramp stamp!!!

you could always use the hitch as your third light and if ur towing,then your trailer will be whats viewwed as the brake lights.

This cable runs through the grommet hole you will be plugging if you remove your spare carrier. You should save this is you plan on a reinstall or to add a third brake light after as you can just plug it back in again. There are some good write-up on this on the forum.
