Thanks for the input. I'm thinking that I am definitely going to go with a lift now, thinking Teraflex is the way to go. From what I've read on the forum I'm getting mixed reviews. A lot of guys say do it yourself other say have a shop do it. The nice part about a shop is you save yourself the hassle and plus get a warranty on the work.

So I talked to the same shop and they said that it will cost me about a $1000 for a 3" Teraflex including parts and labor. This seems pretty reasonable considering most of the time i see these lifts costing between $800-$900. The wheel spacers have to be around $60. So with the whole thing said and done they are only charging me a couple hundred for labor assuming they are getting the lift for a little less than the common consumer would.

Guys correct me if I'm wrong on this one, but these seems like the good way to go.

Don't put a lift on just because it's cool. 99% of people that drive jeeps can't take them to their limits stock, let alone modified. Level it out and wheel it stock for a while to get things figured out and then lift it later if need be. A stock rubi will out-wheel many many modified rigs.

You are right, every time a take my Jeep out I take it further and further than I think it can go. My main concern was leveling out the front rake because I do have a heaver aftermarket bumper on now and plan and installing a winch later. My thought with the lift is why not just do it now, rather than wait, it will give me more clearance and level out the rake in the process.

As far as doing it myself it comes down to a cost/time factor. I just did the grill mod myself which made sense because it only cost me about $40 plus a couple hours of time as opposed to buying one pre-made for hundreds. With the lift I'm thinking it will probably take an entire afternoon if not entire day. For a couple hundred it seems worth it to save my time, plus being a new vehicle I'd like the piece of mind of having a professional do it with the warranty.

I do appreciate the input though, if I do decide to lift and can find a deal on one I may end up putting it on myself. This forum's write ups are top notch.

You guys are kicking some solid wisdom re: wheeling what you have. A stock rubi is pretty sick - i have to just keep reminding myself of that too! I remember when I finally put 32 BFGs on my TJ and thought it was sweet... let alone lockers!

I'm sure there are some whoppers out there.

You guys have really given me some good food for thought here. That is why this forum is great, you get all sides of the spectrum. My main issue is leveling out the rake so perhaps I'll just order the pucks and do it myself and save the lift for later on down the road. That way I have more time to research it and discover what I really want. I can save all the additional money I thought about spending on other items I would like to purchase. Like seat covers, PIAA lights, motion alarm, train horn, winch, the list goes on and on...

Definately do the job yourself if you are going the pucks route. I think one of the best attributes of me putting on the RC 2.5 Coils is that the front looks 1000% better when level.

Also, not to bash anyone here but I agree with JeffD - there's no need to remove the axle side trackbar bolt. I didn't, and the RC kit is supposed to have 3" taller springs! This might be why some guys are having a steering wheel center problem?

Save the money and get to know your Jeep. It will literally only take you an hour or two at the max.

I'm up in the North Valley, but I'd be more than willing to help you put the spacers in. I've installed Daystar spacers on both the front and rear of my Rubi after bumper installs. It really is a piece of cake.

Thanks macfamm I might have to take you up on that, now I just need to decide on what size.

Also if you are interested a bunch of us are planning a run to Butcher Jones on the 17th. Take a look at the thread below if you are interested and can attend.

Little update on this...

I ended up not lifting and going with the Daystar 1.75 spacer in the front only and very glad I did this. Funny thing is I didn't want to mess with having the spacers shipped so I found a local shop 4Wheelers that happened to have some on the shelf. The best part is that they are literally right across the street from my place of business. When I went in to pick them up I asked them out of curiosity how much they would charge to put them in. $50 bucks. Since it was so cheap I just left the Jeep and walked back to work, picked it up that afternoon.

Here are some pics that I have from the last time we went out. Not the best for showing the rake adjustment. And come to think of it I really don't have any driveway poser shots from before because most of my pics are on the trail. Either way here they are, thanks for the advice everyone, I'm glad I waited on the lift. Now I can use that cash to install on board air w/ train horn and CB with PA speaker.

Looks great Johnny! WHEN (not if) you decide to go with the lift, pm or call me. I can get you a good deal, and will help you install it...
