I bought a cheap craftsman one a few years back and couldnt wait for that bitch to break so I sould buy a bigger one. Last week I bought one at Lowes(kobalt)with 2 jack stands for 99 bucks. I think its 3 ton with the fast pump, much better than what I had.

Are you looking for a bottle or hydraulic type jack? If so, check out craftsman. If you are looking for a jack to change a tire you can use the stock jack, and get the AEV jack base when you upgrde to 35's - I use it, and have had no problems with it.

Hope that answers your question - if not throw a couple more details as to how you intend to use it and I'll give you some ideas.

Watch for sales at sears. They usually run a pretty hefty one with stands foraround $150 or so, one of the 'fast pump' ones at that. Atleast they used to, i picked up 2 when they did. Before that, i had a regular 3 ton sears one, that wasnt a 'fast pump' one, still have it but dont use it as much as it takes so long to get it to the bottom of the vehicle.

i like the stock jack too,but i was looking for something stonger and easier to use when i do things like rotate tires, brakes, stuff like that .i have look into buying the jack base but its kinda priced high for what it is.i can use a brick r a block of wood instead. i was looking at for a floor jackbut not opposed to a bottle jack..

Sears has a few on their website - there is a 3 ton jack with 3 ton jack stands and a creeper for $150. There are bigger and more expensive ones, but for what you get that's not a bad deal.

Yeah, the AEV is a little pricey for what it is - I bought it at the same time as my lift, wheels and tires, so the additional $50 on the invoice didn't look bad compared to everything else.

Why does everybody cheap out on somethin that might have to save their life if a vehicle falls on um? That's the stupidest crap I've ever heard of. I use a Lincoln, by the way. Under 300 bucks. Cheaper than a trip to the emergency room.

Does anybody make a jack, that is somewhat affordable, that will lift higher than 19" or so? I'd like one that could get 27-30". I wouldn't mind paying 300 or so for the right jack; I just want some height as I'm tired of putting 4"x4" blocks on my jack pad.

Yes.

I can't vouch for it. I've never heard of it. It looks pretty good, though. If you look at the back, it's a dual piston jack. My Lincoln is only a single piston.

Also seems their stuff is lifetime warranted: http://www.norcoind.com/norco/warranty.shtml
