I foresee this becoming a well discussed topic.......

browse this thread, and you can pick up a little info. Based on what I'm reading now the smallest lift may have to be 2.5", but it really sounds as if a 3 is the way to do it right. I still want to see some pics of a 2 though, just to see the if it has the "hot wheels" look, which i do not want

I would imagin the 35's would "Fit" with the 2" but not be at all functional unless you all you plan to do is take pictures of it in your driveway. I agree with Texaschopper and with previous threads- 3" minimum to be safe

FT 2" with 35's on 17x9 5"BS KMC CNC machined wheels. It drives great after taking off the front track bar bracket.

I just had to trim the air dam.

so are the Rubicons different underneath then the Sahara's or the X's? There is another post that says 35's on a 2" does not work too well.

I assume you had to cut the body in front of the rear tire???

There must be some individual variation. Mine is fine. The FT kit uses the same bump stops as their taller kits so I'm not concerned about compression and rubbing any more than I would be with the taller kits.

This JK is kind of like the AEV Highline kit, big wheel wells and a small lift for big wheels. Low CG, great road manners, and does fine off road.

Have you flexed this set up at all??? This is the first I had heard of 35's with 2". Does it rub at all? I just got the 2" FT and would love 35's but did not want to swing the DOE for the bigger kit. Are those 12.5's? Need more info please

I also have just purchased the FT 2" with the M-force shocks.. and i plan on running a goodyear MTR 305 70 17 which is a 34 in. tire. I looked at the pics of J33P JK FT and he is also running MTR but in a 33" and he had no issue at all with rubbing even at full flex. so I am hopping that .49 on each side of the wheel will not make a diffrenece.. but as of a 35" I am pretty sure it will have some rubbing issues.

I torn on the decision as well. I wanted to go with as little lift as possible and still run 34's with the swaybar disco'd. It seemed to me that the FT 2"BB would be enough to clear 34's with no rubbing whatsoever but their claims that it only cleared 33" tires with ease worried me. So I called FT directly and was told that I could not run 34's with their 2"BB and that rubbing would be significant.

So I've now narrowed it down to teraflex's 2.5" BB and 34's or my other option is to just say f-it and go with FT's 3" kit and 35's!
