yeah, the front track bar bracket they give you with the economy kit makes no sense at all and should be tossed. however, i don't get how if you kept your joints greased they could be making noise. did you ever isolate what was causing the noise in the first place? i ran their ultimate kit for about a year and did not have this problem.

I was all set with a teraflex lift until the garage I was going to use to install the lift said all they have had were problems with Tera. The garage is well respected so I have to go with the expert...

He wants to do BDS, but I haven't seen much said about BDS around here.

oh please, problems with teraflex? did he mention what that problem might be?

i'm sorry but your well respected garage is most likely a BDS dealer and not a teraflex one and that's why he's pimping BDS - he'll get a bigger profit if you buy it. trust me, ALL shops do this.

here, do yourself a HUGE favor, save yourself A LOT of money and install the kit yourself:

this write-up will be all that you need and if you need to get tools for the job, you will still spend less that paying a shop to do the install and you will get to keep the tools for future work/maintenance.

Absolutely possible. Just need to do some more digging before I pull the trigger. While I have seen a lot of bad posts on the Full Traction, so far haven't seen anyone really rail on Teraflex.

nor will you. TF is a good company that stands behind their products and Joe is on here all the time making sure that our members are happy. likewise, FT did get a bad batch of bushings last year and i know they are still trying to recover from the PR damage it created. likewise, i know they had some customer service issues and have since gotten rid of the offending partied. their new guy jeramiah is on here all the time now to and if you're still willing to give them a chance, i'm sure he would be more than happy to help you in anyway possible.

I actually spoke to him last week, and planned to use his kit until the garage I was going to do the work at said what they said. I understand the garage may have their favorites (and $$$ is a factor as well). Just means I have to keep doing more research so I can make an informed decision even with noise coming from lots of directions.

I'm telling you... I was all set to have a shop install a lift for me. And then I started reading the write-ups (especially the OME one), and it just seems so doable. I'll probably order the OME kit this week and see what kind of damage I can do... I just hope I can fit 35" tires under there...

All I can say is that I am now waiting on my fourth, yes fourth set of bushings. I called FT before the holidays and was told I would receive new bushings and new sleeves. Still waiting. FT uses the mushroom type bushing, and I believe that something is not spec with my lift because when I measure the width of the bushings when installed in the arm, they are a bit wider than the sleeve. This means that when I torque the bolt, it pinches the bushing before it contacts the sleeve. I believe TF uses the rubber bushings similar to stock that won't allow you to pinch them in the brackets. I believe also that FT long arm uses the Johnny joint so it won't have the bushing isssue. If I had to do it over again, it probably would be TeraFlex.
