Wow, I am getting 17 city and it gets up to 19 on the freeway. I think I have 4500 easy miles on it now and it seems to get better with age.

When I first got my jk it was getting approx 18 mpg. After three months I got rid of that big a$$ muffler and put a magnaflow on. I was getting approx 410 miles on a full tank. Now with mods I am getting 13 city/16-17 hwy. I'll see what it brings me with 4.88s in the next couple of weeks.

Do you have to take into account that a new engine still hasn't been broken in yet, I've heard many things about breaking in an engine, not sure what is true and what isn't.

I have started doing a trick when I come up to a red light, instead of zooming all the way to it and stopping like a lot of drivers do, I slow down and approach it more slowly, a lot of the times it will turn green by the time I get there and I don't need to start from a dead stop.

I also use the cruise control as much as possible, you can't believe how easy it is to go with the flow. Most of the time the "flow" is going 10-15 miles over the limit. (before I get flamed, I stay in the right lane and go 5 over.)

Out of the middle of nowhere, around 17,000 miles, my gas mileage really improved. Nothing changed, it happened between oil changes, etc. Not sure, but I'm excited for now. I'm getting around 19 on the highway and 15 in town. I have also noticed a difference between the hard top and the soft-top. The hard top seems to get better mpg.

Mine got 20mpg on a 360mile round trip last weekend. Before the lift and tires that is......remains to be seen what it will get now.

Was getting almost 18 1/2 mpg before 35's. Now getting just over 17. I have a 6 speed and all stock. Recalibrated my speedometer. Fixing to install airaid CAI. Curious to see if I can gain a little back.

In my stock 2Dr Rubi 6 speed I can get:

Highway:
10L/100 km (23 MPG) at 80km/hr (50 MPH) country roads,
and 12L/100 Km (20 MPG) at 100km/hr (60 MPH)
and 20 L/100km (12 MPG) at 140 Km/hr (87MPH).

City: 14L/100km (16-17 MPG) not babying it... but not drag racing.
With hard top and windows up.

so stop drag racing, check your air filter, put your top back on, and keep arms in and windows up.... reduce drag, and get the 50 Lbs of mud out of your skid plates.
