I drive my unlimited/automatic/rubi like a granny I get 14mpg, I drive it like I stole it and get 13mpg. The gas milage sucks, power sucks too. This motor sucks.

 

I got 35's with steel wheels, an extra 250 pounds with my bumpers and winch, and still get 17 MPG.

 

I had my brothers and two friends in the car for a whole day in the city. I averaged 13.2 with the 4 assholes in it. When I threw them out i jumped to 18-20 mpg on hi way.

Having about 1000 pounds in the car really affects performance. I really with the JK had about 50hp 50 lb. of torque

Alright, after install and no other upgrades it's back to where it was before 35's. 18.5 mpg. As far as performance it's hard to tell but it seems it gained a little on the low end. I'm happy because any performance is a plus I was mainly concerned with getting my gas mileage back to stock without rear gearing.

 

I get horrible MPG but I found a way to make it better. What you do is find a gas station that has a really smokin hot chick working at it. Sometimes they are hard to find, I suggest the smaller mom and pop stores that have the family working there. Not ez mart cause the chicks are butch. Anyway... if you find a hot chick at the gas station then keep using that one and it can become the "visit the hot chick day" not the "MF'ing pile of jeep that is the third time this week the gas light came on"

It works for me.

 

Seriously? Do people really choose a jeep if gas mileage is a concern? I know I bought a jeep and expected crap mileage. Had I been looking for great gas mileage I would have bought a hybrid. To me the bad mileage is just one of those things that you have to take for all the positive things that come with owning a jeep.

 

I was getting about 18 mpg in my stock rubicon 6 speed with 4.10s.

I'm now running 35s, a stubby front bumper (which seems to have gained me about 1 mpg on the freeway - aero?) and the flashpaq. On my 17 mile trip to work with 50/50 city and 75 mph highway I got 20.8 MPG. I can't complain at all.

 

its just frustrating, mostly because a ford 1 ton truck gets the same mileage as my 3.8 liter that weighs half as much. I don't know why some of you are getting 21mpg, i'm getting 14 if i baby it and 13 if i drive normal. This motor sucks, and having a suck motor shouldn't be a requirement for owning a jeep.


Figure this out, most of the guys that do hemi swaps get about the same mileage with near 30% more cubes............The 3.8 is a dud. Bring the diesel stateside.

 

I'm in the 17-18 mpg group and all city driving which to me ain't all that bad. My old Escape was only giving me 15 mpg for some reason
When I was looking at buying my Jeep the MPG was the last thing on my mind.
I just wanted a Jeep because they look cool regardless of what it was gonna cost to run it.
