Gears that last??
So I'm at that point now... I'm ready to pull the trigger on re-gearing. I've decided to go with 4.88's (most likely from Northridge)... with that said I'm trying to decide on what brand gears to get. I've read many older threads that talk about how most gears are the same, just re-branded. But most of the threads are older threads. I've noticed a few newer brands (Besides Yukon, Superior, and Alloy) of gears out there and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.
Lastly, has anoyone out there had their new gears in without problems for 30K-40K miles or longer. It seems that most people say they've had there new gears in for 1,500-6000 miles no problem. I know that with any mod things break etc... (especially with gears depending on who's doing the wrechwork). I was just wondering how many of you out there have dropped in new gears and never had to worry about them since...
Thanks for all the help guys...

US Gear - 4.88's - 4320 steel - D44 only - this is currently the only US made JK gearset
Unless something has changed very recently, all others are still produced overseas, using 8620 steel.

been running my G2 5.13s for about 10k miles, no problems to report. As long as you follow the break in procedures, and they are installed by an experienced tech who knows JK's, you will be good. If you wheel your rig, obviously they are more prone to breakage.
