Question Gibson vs Magnaflow

I need some feedback regarding sound level & power gains for these 2 brands. I'm only looking at single exit cat backs.

Which one is quieter Magnaflow or Gibson?

donno about those two, i have the dynomax cat back i like the sound, most people prefer the flowmaster 40 series muffler, as for performance dont expect to much, may be if put together with CAI and Hypertech you would feel any real difference

I have the magnaflow cat back (single exit) and I enjoy it. I noticed small power gains, the sound is not bad. When starting the jeep it actualy sounds like it has an engine in it and when you stomp on it you get a good tone as well. Both sounds are not very noticable with the hard top on. I also have a Airaid CAI that was put on prior to the cat back system, they work well together. With the two of them you will notice a good increase in power and sound of the engine.

Anyone out there running a new exhaust with a soft top for a DD? Is the sound annoying or do you get used to it? I was running next to a rice burner the other day and just couldn't stand the thought of that sound all of the time.

Aldaman- do you run with a soft top? If so did the sound bother you or does it ever bother you?

No, only have a hard top...I often drive with all the windows rolled down though and it's not that loud driving around town.

I love my magnaflow. It lets you know its there w/o being too droning. I wouldnt recommend flowmaster, im pretty sure they designed them specifically to be loud.
