Yes, it fits on the 2 door. Both the 2 door and 4 door require that you relocate the evap canister. I sell the evap can relo kit for $50, with the purchase of a muffler relo kit.

All the JK piping is 2.5" tubing.

Got this in an email from a customer who upgraded from my original Magnaflow kit to the new kit, "The Muffler is a bit quieter, but not in a bad way. seems to remove more of the highs, so the sound is a bit less 'ricey'."

Just got my Flowmaster 40 today... Sounds really good. I was going to go with the gibson dual but everyone says it sounds ricey and that you loose low end torque. My Flowmaster has a nice loud low pitch tone. pretty close to a V8, better gas mileage so far. And it feels a little faster off the line too

save some money and drive down to a muffler shop and have them custom fab you your muffler of choice into a different spot. (Relocation). The system you buy is over priced for what you get. same muffler and shiny pipe. I had them relocate mine and he put in magnaflow. I had it for 3 days and I had it that long because I got it on a Friday and the shop was closed on weekend.

I took it back after listening to a flowmaster 40 that had been welded in same place as mine and it sounds like a small v-8. I had them put one on.

Total cost on all my junk was around $250.

And that was for 2 mufflers and installation twice.

The systems are a rip off IMO.

While I tend to agree, the stainless steel pipe used in the kits do add some value. In my opinion not enough to make them worthwhile (as said from someone who bought a kit early on). If I had it to do over again, the woods or the local muffler shop would be the way I would go.

That's what I bought out of the gate. I kind of greet the Banks exhaust with a shoulder shrug and I was a little too anxious to get rid of the stock exhaust.

As for the headers, they have caused me a lot of grief. Not with the install or their performance, but getting them to run with my first programmer. I would consistently run lean and needed to fatten up my octane to get them to work. With my SC Flashpaq that hasn't been an issue.

Don't expect any huge power increase with the use of headers. The stock exhaust manifold is actually pretty good and my reasoning for going with headers was getting them coated and removing some under hood heat. Although I haven't had this issue, there have been some other reports of cooking plug wires. That is probably due to a couple things, being bare metal and also leaning out which causes higher exhaust gas temperatures.

If I could have had the stock exhaust manifold coated while retaining use of my JK, that would have been a better route to travel. There were also some early reports of cracking the exhaust manifolds which appears to be cleaned up, although it seems as if it is some sort of Jeep right of passage with historical precedence.

So here's a quick check list if you decide to buy headers,

1. Get them coated by a third party, cermakrome, black satin or some other heat barrier coat, inside and out.

2. Get a programmer (Hypertech does not support use of headers) or if running the stock PCM raise your octane level to prevent lean conditions.

3. Find someone to buy your removed exhaust manifolds and strongly encourage them to have them coated.

Just got my magnaflow system installed today and have to say I'm VERY disappointed with it. Very reminiscent of the sound my VW Golf made after I installed a crappy exhaust on it. What makes things worse, I even feel like there is a loss in power :(

Based on everybody else's experiences, I'm wondering if maybe my muffler is defective or something...

I feel like it's kind of assumed that you would put a CAI and a catback on your jeep no matter what...These cars are mad slow and these little things make us all feel a little better...not much but a little.

GO MAGNAFLOW. Gibson sounds like the opening scene to The Fast and The Furious. My magnaflow gets the job done.

Default Borla for me

I've been doing a lot of looking around trying to decide on what exhaust system I will install on my '09 Rubicon. I've decided on the Borla Pro XS Muffler with pipes done by my local shop. I'm not convinced that the cat-back system adds anything or at least enough difference to justify the extra cost. This muffler is available for under $100 and according to some dyno test results I found (done by a Ford Mustang group a few years ago), this muffler out performs most others in hp/torque, isn't too loud, and has a 1,000,000 mile warranty.

Once I get it installed (within the next 30 days I hope) I'll give a follow-up report on it.

The dyno test I referred to was done in 2002 by Super Fords Magazine. It was performed on a 1990 Ford Mustang LX with 370 hp. Obviously the results on a Jeep JK are going to be significantly different, it at least shows how their test showed some interesting results. I'd love to see something like this done on our vehicle and include some of our more popular brands like Gibson, Banks, and MBRP.

The results in HP order:
1.Flowtech Warlock (open) 374.2 hp/ 333.1 tq
2.Bassani Real Street 373.7 hp/ 333.8 tq
3.Hooker Maxflow 373.5 hp/ 333 tq
4.Borla XS 373.3 hp/ 332.6 tq
5.Magnaflow 372.8 / 332.5 tq
6.MAC 372.3 hp / 331.5 tq
7.Flowtech Afterburner 372.3 hp/ 330.1 tq
8.Hooker Aerochamber 372.1 hp/ 330.4 tq
9.Bassani 372 hp/ 333.5 tq
10.Spintech 371.6 hp/ 332.2 tq
11.Edelbrock Performer RPM 370.9 hp / 331.3 tq
12.Borla XR1 370 hp/ 334 tq
13.Flowtech Terminator 369.5 hp / 331.3 tq
14.Dynomax Ultra Flo 369.4 / 333.2 tq
15.Flowmaster 369.4 hp / 331.8 tq
16.Flowtech Warlock 366.3 hp / 325.3 tq
17.No muffs 365.2 hp / 330.1 tq

Sound Off in Quietest to Loudest (Decibels):
1.Borla XS, 80db at idle, 90db at 2,000 rpm, 110db at WOT.
2.Hooker Maxflow, 80db at idle, 90db at 2,000 rpm, 120db at WOT.

I was like you and posted a million things on JK forum asking all about the sound of each. I wanted the deepest possible and was super into the old borla sounds but all of yall talked me into a magnaflow. I dig my magnaflow, adds a little bit of pick up and the sounds sweet but not loud enough for my taste =]. If i were to do it all again I'd get a flowmaster 40 series muffler for like $100 and just put that underneath the driver as a kind of "offroad" exhaust.

Magnaflow system=$500+
Flowmaster muffler (and v8 sound)=$100+

the only thing that blows about flowmaster is that they arent stainless steel...

I had a flowmaster 40 on my Jeep for a while until it rusted off. It sounded pretty good but it wasn't BALLSY enough for me with my AEM Brute Force intake. I went to MBRP and man that thing sounds good.

If you ever go with a welded in exhaust, I would go with flowmaster 40 and hit it with some high temp paint to prevent rusting down the road.
