[QUOTE=justin1328;137777]Ok I need some help. help with choosing wheels*you did not want to void your warranty

Ok, I've heard that if you go beyond a 32" tall tire (stock size) that the speeedo will be wrong and that the service center can not correct for that, and that will void your warranty because now your odometer will be off. I'm also confused with the whole ABS and tach being off.

I've also been reading for months trying to figure out a good combo and would love a 33" with a BB and spacers. But with my JK being our family vehicle I need something that is first and formost safe and something that the warranty will back up.

Is anyone running 275 / 70 / 16's? Running this size through a calculator = 31.2 X 10.8 x16. This tire should have a wire stance since the profile has a little smaller side wall that most 16's. The equilvlent of 31 x 10.50 x 15 profile.

This should not void the warranty, and provide a nice stance if you are using after market wheels with backspacing between 4.25 and 5". This wheel tire combo should be a hair over the fenders, but nothing to worry about.

Pics of the 275/70/16's anyone?

I've got a Sahara Unlimited. I bought some Rubi rims and tires and used 1.5" SpiderTrax wheel spacers. It gives you a wider looking stance, you stay with OEM Tires and rims. Works for me and it will keep your cost to around a $1000 depending on what you pay for the rims. And when you sell your stock tires even less.

so if I understand correctly......those who are running anything larger than stock size tires or anything that would convert to a stock size tire will have an incorrect speedo reading. And, if so is that the only issue or are there other problems?

I'm running 33" BFG AT's on 15 X 7 rims and a Full Traction Budget boost. These tires have an actual height of 32.5". My speedo reads within 1% of my GPS. These tires also weigh less than the original Rubi tires, so that can only help mileage and ride characteristics.
If you want to go a hair taller than the FT BB, look at the Rubicon Express BB. If you do the FT BB, I would not recommend using the Trackbar Relocation Bracket. Both the FT and RE BB's have more lift in front than in the rear, to help with rake.
To have wheels that do not stick out very far past the fenders stay with 4.5" to 5.5" backspacing.

My understanding of mods voiding a warranty, is that no warranty is voided, however if the dealer can prove that your modification caused a breakage of something that is under warranty, the warranty will NOT cover it.

that makes sense since the overall wheel/tire combo is within .5" of the factory setup

You're right, not covering the claim is more accurate than voiding the warranty.
what I mean is that if the wheel tire combo messes with the ABS sensor or the odemeter, tach, speedo, then one can have problems getting the warranty to cover issues that have something to do with those areas.

Call me crazy, or just dumb. But....the salesman at the stealership told me that Jeep actually will warranty up to 3" lift and 33" tires as long a certified mech. does the install. I have not researched the statement but thats what they told me.

Here's a handy website if you want to get a relative size difference between tire/wheel combos...

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs...xt2=33x12.5x16

Personally, I am going with DC FC-II 33'x12.50, on ProComp Rims (7089). Have had them mounted and balanced yet. Cost me ~$1500 through 4wd.com. I will be getting RE 2" BB with Monotube shocks in about a month. My Jeep is my daily driver too (50 miles per day, every day). I'll let you know about the set-up, but I've heard it drives great.
