OP lives in a hot area, so the snow/ice rating prolly isn't a concern

Not at all, what does concern me is how load rating effects ride?

Sorry for my delayed response to you guys. I saved my log in details on my office iMac and spent the week in Key West with the gf. If you guys saw her you'd get why my mind was elsewhere But now I'm back and I have to get this tire issue sorted.

So load rating, is an A softer and better riding than say an E or is it in reverse?

Thoughts on me going down a size to that weird 34 metric size? It goes down about an inch in height and I loose an inch in width? I believe its 285/75R17? Would this improve my ride quality?

I have run the KO2 in 35's and most recently the 34-10.50-17 and they are terrific AT tires. Duratracs do not in any way compare in the snow but that's not what you're looking for. I know the GY's have weak sidewalls too if that's an issue for you. The KO2's do run small but they are terrific in just about every situation. Very quiet and extremely light in the D range. I did just go back to a 35 in the new general grabber X3. The generals obviously aren't as good in the ice but I wanted to go up a size and try something new. I have nothing bad to say about the BFG other than the size. Picture attached with the 34's which measure about 32.50 with 28 psi.

285/75/17 is a nice size to me, it's also a rare size. Nitto Ridge Grappler comes in a C rated tire in that size and will be my next set.

If you're asking about the 34's then no. Even without a lift.

How are the Gen Grabbers thank you for the input on the BF's. The K02 is sort of a hybrid AT/MT correct? Also why leave the 34's? And did you have a lift with those?

Yes. Same lift with both tires but you don't really "need" a lift with the 34's. The KO2 is a AT tire. They are great tires. They won't be good in the mud. I just wanted something different and bigger with a sidewall strong enough for the rocks here in Colorado and Utah. I would have gone with the BFG again but they run small. The Grabbers are new and thought I would give them a chance. Don't know anything about them other than they are louder, and a whole lot heavier. Lol

The grabbers are deff heavier- about 10lbs per tire based on the same size. I was going to bump to them in a 315/70-17 after my 285/70-17 but settled for bfg in favor of road manners (noise) and known life. With the grabbers being so new there isn't much info on life span.

No one "settles" for the BFG's. LOL you made a great choice.
They are top line terrific tires. I just got a great price on these new Generals and I wanted to try something new.
