I know it can't be great, economics dictates that. But is it a total POS? Should I pass? Should I get the "engo" made version that Tractor Supply sells? It's pretty inexpensive too. Haha. I want to spend less that $400-500. What do y'all suggest?
I think you've been reading too many posts by Saturn if your wanting to put something on for "looks" and to fill a hole

haha. I didn't think about that! Lol. I'm not planning on adding LEDs to it or painting it BMW colors though, so I should be ok.

I've used my older HF 12K winch several times over the years to pull both myself, others and even used it to pull cars from homes following the May 20, 2013 Moore OK tornado. Plenty of power and no issues. I did replace the steel with synthetic and am happy with it too. I've had it since 2010 on my JK.

Where is the brake on that winch? This warning is posted on superwinch website.

Warning: This winch was not designed for synthetic rope. To make the Tiger Shark SR ready for synthetic, we increased thickness of the drum tube and flanges and moved the brake outside the drum. Superwinch does not recommend adding synthetic rope to this winch. Superwinch is proud to be the only manufacturer alerting customers to the ropes winch-damaging potential.
