Although we do not have any sort of venting system on the hood.. nor do we have the upgraded hood latch kit.. The hood did ruffle. So much so it broke the footman loop.. This has been replaced.. But the odd thing here is.. I was very tempted to our case the upgraded hood latch.. but at the time, we opted for the Mopar Full Bra and surprisingly the hood ruffle have went away.. This is due to the grille portion of the Bra and the Hood portion meeting up above the grille area.. creating a tighter seal at that point, I would suspect. The only thing we've noticed is that the hood portion which ties to the footman loop lifts up off the hood slightly when driving..

 

Two inches of 1/2 square tube and two wire zip ties. No more hood bounce.

 

I agree that removing the spring didn't do shit. At least not in the crazy Colorado wind.

 

Tuffy hood lock system worked for me, also adds piece of mine that no one can open my hood..
