Hey, thanks for the reply. Just an FYI to anyone reading, I do not have the extention bracket. I'll deffinetly heed your instructions, if I need to find a new bracket if anyone has an experience with the Curie vs. the factory axle bracket I'm all ears.

Teraflex makes a frame mounted drop bracket that is very strong. There haven't been any failures resulting from using this type of bracket. The forces at the axle are the same as stock. I think it's about $60.

I do not understand your post.

The extension bracket is clearly visible in both of the photographs you posted. It most certainly IS there.

also, in the second picture, it certainly appears as thought the trackbar was making contact with the differential cover, the paint looks like it has been worn completely off of it in the center.

I'm with Happy on this one. My stock bracket is nowhere near that wide. But judging by the first picture it looks like the rubbing happened after it was tied out of the way.

Or just after it broke. I don't think it would make contact that low on the cover while it was still attached.

Yes you do. THe currie kit beefs up the factory bracket. It does not completely replace it.

As far as it "being covered", I'll add my 2 cents. The brackets are weak from the factory, both front and rear. IMHO Chrysler, Dana, or someone should own up to some responsibility here. However, they have an easy way out because of your lift. It is not a stretch to say that the bracket failed because of the extension that was added. They do not have to cover things that break from your modifications. A few people here have posted successful negotiations with the dealer to get a repair done. Maybe it is to have good customer service, maybe it is because they know they are weak. My guess is, if you ask your dealer will tell you "NO".

Skyjacker and other lift kit companies that delivered kits with these poor axle end brackets should also own up and take some responsibility. New brackets are available from some companies, so you need to ask for one so you can avoid the problem in the future. IMHO the bracket should be free if you own the kit with the problem.

I think this post will say at least 100 words (picture in it)

I would not drive your Jeep till it is fixed.
X2! Definitely DO NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. You run the risk of damaging (if you haven't already) your shocks.

I hate to say this, but I had a shop put in my 4" skyjacker kit (about $1000) and took it off after 50 miles. Both axels shifted off center making wheels rub when flexed. Also caster angle was down to 3 degrees resulting in bump steer, wandering etc... Not to mention the 4" lift putting the driveshaft (2 door) at such an extreme angle it was destined to blow up. I'll stop. Do a search and you'll find a lot on this.

I have the second bracket you're referring to which goes from their track bar bracket over to the differential cover. If you're gonna stay with their stuff, pm me and I can make you a good deal on some parts.

I ended up welding in a Currie bracket and using Full Traction adjustable bar.

This doesn't make since.
1) you didn't state what size tire you are running or if you had and alignment done after the install.

2) 4" lift is gonna change driveshaft angel right?

3) Off center axles will happen with all big lifts. That's why you are now running adj. trac bars right? I'll stop. Keep spending that money. JMO

I'm not sure this bracket will work with those shocks. The shocks with the can at the bottom tend to hit the frame mounted track bar brackets. I would get this welded up and get an adj track bar or have skyjacker send out their reinforcement bracket.

If the dealer did the lift, they should cover it for you.

You're right. The right rear will hit. I forgot that mine did that.

Guys I'm getting even more confused now. I stand corrected that I do have the extension bracket installed (I didn't install the kit). So I don't understand exactly what I need to get my jeep running right again ? The dealership qouted me 2500 for fixing everything, with a few extra crap they threw in which is outrageous.

What exactly needs to be done to fix this ? If I get the Full Traction adjustable track bar, what other peices will I need to have it rewelded to the axle ? I'll be ditching the extention thats there, but I dont have any of the stock parts, so rather than reordering those if there any better aftermarket options ? (Such as the Currie, is that the piece I need?) I'm pretty clueless here, and I need to be ordering some parts by the end of the day to have my jeep back together by the end of the week.
