The joints are not considered hard parts. What RK was saying is that if you are driving down the street and a joint blew up, yes, they would replace it even though its not under their lifetime warranty. If you happen to drop your jeep off a ledge and somehow managed to wedge a rock in the control arm mount and it blew the joint apart, then it is your fault and it won't be covered.

Basically, they warranty the joints for workmanship but not for lifetime abuse. Most, if not all, companies will not warranty the joints with exception of manufacturing error.

 

Got it. I guess I'm still trying to figure out these warranties. Metal cloak hasn't established anything firm and rely on broad terminology "we'll take care of you". RK is a little better but use "hard parts" I guess I'm trying to figure out what's NOT a hard part in their kit? It seems equally as broad as MC.

In your description, since I have a Rubicon the sway bar links are still attached but the sway bar is disconnected electronically. What happens if I fully flex the RK suspension under that scenario and the links wrap back around and bend into a pretzel. It's unfortunate but could happen even though everything was properly installed. Is that a "hard part" that's covered?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that anything could be excused as user fault or improperly installed, so these warranties don't seem like much if they don't come through and look for excuses.

We do warranty the housings from breakage as well. We just cannot warranty the bushings and preload on them as that is a customer maintenence issue. Our warranty is pretty well explained on our website, but as long as you install things as outlined per our instructions, you should never have an issue with the joint housing itself or at least we would never expect it... Our Krawler Joints are true spherical joints that allow ball and socket rotation freely where as some joints require bushing distortion to allow for articulation demands.

I went from tereflex to Rock Krawler to Metal Cloak arms. All great products. The Metal Cloak arms win between the three IMO. They actually absorb vibration quite well too. My ride is not only smoother but flexes out better than ever with no binding.

I changed from my Rock Krawler arms because I blew a joint and it wasnt covered. This is bc it is wear and tear part. I totally understand that. The great thing is due to their great name; they sold on CL in a day.

You will be happy with either. You will even save money with the RK arms because they are less expensive.

I have a Frankin Lift. Some Tereflex Rock Krawler and Metak Cloak. So my vote for MC is just for their arms.

Don't be sorry it happens. Just like belts brakes etc wear so does everything. I have no idea how it happened. I didn't even notice it. My shop did.

I think your arms are of great value and quality and recommend them still to this day. I never worried about bending one. They are really BEEFY. Your price point is excellent and the best bang for the buck. I will be ditching my frankinlift soon for your 2dr stretch :thumbup: Keep up the great work over there!

I am looking for the best short /mid arm bolton system. I will eventually go Bolt-on coilovers. So I need the control arms to match the flex and ride. I have been looking into high speed bump stops as well until I can afford coilovers. Oh will it ever stop? ;-)
