Help with Muffler... Throaty Sound
I currently have my muffler pulled right now. It sounds awesome at idle and very low rpms but I feel it gets ricier the higher the rpms get. I love the clearance though. Don't think the highway ride would be all that great. Too much resonation in the cabin. I have a 2dr by the way.
I recommend the Flowmaster Super 44 - its throaty, inexpensive, and most importantly - TINY. It tucks up real nice in the stock location (or relocated location). It's also painted black from the factory so it looks nicer. I paid $120 out the door for it. The paint burned off after a year, but nothing a little BBQ paint and 30 seconds couldn't fix. Still sounds great.
I have the Gibson Stainless Cat Back and it's Kind of Ricey/Buzzy.
I got it for 120 at Quadratec's scratch and dent open house last year. The tip is also kind of Ricey Big but, Mother Nature took care of it and bashed it into a good smaller shape.
The nice thing about it is, way, way more clearance than the stock Muffler and it did help with hills in 6th a little bit.
Listen, at the end of the day you are down 2 Cylinders so no matter what its gonna be a little Ricey/Buzzy at certain RPM ranges. No matter what you do, it's not gonna sound like a V-8 (unless you do a Hemi Conversion
