This would probably be my engine of choice but a "semi" cost effective JK swap using this motor is several years away...

Price depends on how you do it. If you have the know how of the electronics and the welding skills then the LS would be cheaper. But if you are using the AEV Hemi kit or the Motech LS kit then I would say the Hemi is cheaper. I was on the fence until I found a super good deal on a used LS engine. Then I found out that each install kit is not the same. AEV gives you everything you need to do the swap and it will work like factory. The LS kit lets you do the basics but then you have to buy everything else to get it to work. I went with the 6.2L so lets compare. I will have to buy the basic kit ($5200), the 4WD adaptor ($625), their radiator ($649), the cruise control upgrade ($599), and on top of all that I will have to have a custom exhaust made (@$1000). Thats a total of $8073. The AEV kit sells for $6699 plus you have to buy a new 4WD adaptor for $200 for a total of $6900 and has everything you need. The Hemi is a cheaper option through my eyes.

Is that custom exhaust include custom headers and that's why it's so expensive. Cause if not then I'm sure you can get it done for cheaper. Regardless still wouldn't be cheaper than the AEV kit

I'm in California so everything is higher but the cost estimate is for two catalytic converters, 4 O2 sensors, a muffler, and labor for custom work because nothing is prefabricated for it.

I just found out JSS does a prefabricated exhaust for @ $600. You still have to buy the O2 sensors though.

New information that I found out today. The LS kit is now $6995 (Jeep Accessories) or $6195 (GM accessories). So now it cost even more to do the LS swap vs. the Hemi. I remember when Robbie would keep saying that his kit was so much cheaper than the Hemi kit because you could re-use parts from the Jeep. Well I guess that all has changed now. LOL

Personally i think the ls platform is much better in alot of ways. If i were to do it id go ls and ditch all the lame ass cruise control and all that bs. Id wire up the bare essentials like speedometer and such.

Why? Live and let live. If he can afford it, life is good. I do things my budget allows. I don't understand why all the jealousy? It's a bitches' trait.

Seriously dude you quote a post I made over 2 years ago when I think I first joined the forum to try and start some crap. First there is no jealousy here. 25k is retarded to pay when they could be done cheaper. Times have changed in 2 years and more people are doing them themselves for around 10k or under. Hell I've actually changed my mind on one and will probably do my own in the LJ I buy next.

Try again with someone else cause it isn't gonna work with me.

Don't forget to check with RPMExtreme for there LS kits. Talk to Jon, they have a very nice diy kit or you can have them do it. I went with the diy kit, 6.0 with the 6L80E and I am very pleased with the turn out. I know he has improved the kit even more from my version so install is even cleaner and easier. Plus there support is outstanding he has gone above and beyond in helping me with any questions I had.
