Check your state laws before mounting a firearm inside your vehicle.
Here in WA it's illegal to store a loaded firearm anywhere inside you vehicle (rifle or pistol) even if you have a valid CWP.
Locked in a box or not it cannot under any circumstances be loaded.
If it's on your person and you have a valid CWP it's ok.

Carrying firearms.
(2)(a) A person shall not carry or place a loaded pistol in any vehicle unless the person has a license to carry a concealed pistol and: (i) The pistol is on the licensee's person, (ii) the licensee is within the vehicle at all times that the pistol is there, or (iii) the licensee is away from the vehicle and the pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle.

You can never have a loaded shotgun or rifle in a vehicle but pistols are fine as long as you have your CPL.
Tuffy versus Bestop (from Tuffy & Bestop websites)
Construction: Both are 16 gauge steel, black powder coated
Security: Tuff has 1/8 lock components, stengthening rib and weather seal mechanism, Bestop does not
Volume (cubic inches): Tuffy 324, Bestop 205
Door seal: Tuffy weather seal, Bestop bumpers only
Door grab handle: Tuffy has a pull handle, Bestop you have to pull on the key
Interior covering: Tuffy none, Bestop material type liner
When my son was young he would ask me what something was worth. I would tell him it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.
If the extra strength, interior volume and weather seal are worth the additional $50 to you then you know what you need to do. Personally, if I am going to protect and secure a $600 deadly weapon $50 extra is cheap insurance. If you just want a drawer to hold tools, it doesn't really matter.
You get what you pay for (if you're lucky!).

Unless you are a convicted criminal...
Even if you do not have a CCL in Florida, their Statue 760.25(3) allows you to:
1) OPEN CARRY if you are hunting, fishing, camping target shooting or traveling to or from those activities.
2) Assuming 1) above doesn't apply, vehicle carry without a permit is allowed, but only when concealed from view and when the firearm is either "securely encased" or not immediately available for use. "Securely encased" means in a glove compartment, whether or not locked; snapped in a holster; in a gun case, whether or not locked; in a zippered gun case; or in a closed box or container which requires a lid or cover to be opened for access. The weapon can be loaded and ready to fire. Vehicle carry on one's person inside a vehicle without a permit is not allowed (except 1) above). Once a firearm is securely encased, it can be stored anywhere inside the vehicle and is not limited to just the glove compartment/center console.
Another great thing about Florida is that State law trumps local laws. A county, city, town must adhere to State law and cannot make up their own more restrictive gun laws. No "gotchas" as you travel across the state.
