Question How to do a hard reset of ecu?

How do you do a hard reset of the ecu so the automatic trans relearns new shift points?

put the fuel pump fuse for 15min and that should reset the ecu

Disconnect the battery negative terminal for a time. Not sure how long, but 30 minutes should cover it. To guarantee a reset, leave it over night.

the fuel pump fuse is the same thing but they said about 15-20min should do it if you do the pump fuse you are not turning the power to every thing else in the jeep. both work or should work

You posted while I was composing mine.
I didn't know about the fuel pump fuse supplying power to the TCM. I usually advocate the battery negative terminal because it works for a host of computer problems and is a single item to remember.

almost all dodge /jeep chrysler cars /truck and jeep made in the late 90's to present usually the fuel pump fuse will re set the ecu that is what i have been told but the neg. battery will do the same thing
