It will allow you to recalobrate your speedo for tire and gear changes along with some HP and TQ increase. Auto trans Jeeps will be able to increase line pressure for firmer shifts along with change the shift points. And the best thing is that it saves the stock program settings and you can reload to stock before heading to the dealer for service.

Is the Hypertech a stackable programmer? Can you run the hypertech with say Unichip or Jet performance chip to see bigger gains?

BTW... not sure if you folks were willing to pay close to $40 to ship, but I called the 4wd.com sales department, and you can get 2 day shipping for like $21... but you can only get 2 day or overnight if you call in. Their standard shipping via the website is based on the item price, which is lame!

Gotcha is that this part number is not in their system to do it over the phone. They said a call to customer service (during business hours) would get it in the system so they could pull it up. So half the price for twice the speed, gotta love the logic there.

That is pretty insane, but good to know. Any cash saved makes for a good day.

What's different with the X model from the Rubicon and sahara? They all are basically the same exact jeep. Why does it work with those two but not the X? Doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone get one of these AND get it to work? Odd thing is the part # is similar to the Accu Pro # -- 52001. It says it's for the 03 - 06 Dodge Hemi 5.7L, though the word is it works for the JK 3.8L as well.

I just received mine, but get error code #60. I also had two DTC error codes that I cleared before hand - P0000 and B16F9. Anyone know what these are -- I tried searching the OBDII sites for these, but no luck.

Waiting until business hours to give Hypertech a call...

The X and Sahara come with 3:21 gears. The Rubi comes with 4:10 gears
The X comes with 225/75/16 tires (Short)
The Sahara comes with 255/75/17 tires (less short)
The Rubi comes with 32" tires (tallest)

All these different sizes affect how the rig will perform and how a programer will function. The JK's computers are programed from the factory differently depending on the gears, tire sizes and transmission. Aftermarket programers also need to be programed differently depending on what combination it's designed for.

Hope that helps.

Are you sure you'll be able to adjust shift points? I went to their website and for one, they don't list the 07/08 Wrangler as one of the applicable vehicles... and looking further into it... out of the 10 part numbers (programmers) they list for DC vehicles, NONE of them allow you to adjust shift points. Only some of the Ford and Chevy Programmers allow you to tune the shift points... so my guess is that the Programmer for the 07/08 Wrangler will NOT allow you to adjust shift points Kind of a bummer

On the one I had on a past vehicle, it gave you an option for firmer shifts and improved shift points, but I had a manual, but no I am not sure with the new programer for the JK. I would recommend calling the company for the real facts as I do not have one yet to give you the most accurate info. I will probably be getting an intake and the Hypertec at the end of Janaury. I checked on the website when I found it on 4WD.com and could not find the programmer either, guess they are a little slow to update.

According to the manual, you'll be able to configure (as listed in the table of contents):

- View/Clear DTC information
- Engine Tuning
- Rev Limiter
- Electric Cooling Fan Operating Range
- Top-Speed Limiter
- Tire Size
- Rear Gear Ratio
- Transmission Shift Points
- Transmission Shift Firmness

I got a hold of tech support today, and my problem with Error Code #60 is related to other electrical draw -- so I've been instructed to disconnect from the battery any aftermarket items like offroad lights, radar detectors, satellite radio, amps, AiROCK, etc... so I'll try later tonight crossing my fingers.
