Hypertech or Superchips?
I just installed the Hypertech on my Jeep Teusday. I chose the hyperteck for several reasons.
1. Dyno sheets- None of the other programmers showed dyno sheets of performance gains on a completely stock jeep. That is even after I contacted them and asked for it. They make claims of x increases in torque and hp, but personally, I want to see it.
2. Features- seemed to have the most features I wa interested in. (tire/gear changes, different octain settings)
3. Price- yes you can get others for cheaper (jet) or more expensive, but again, I want to see dyno sheets to back up thier claims.
When I installed it, I set it up for the 87 octane setting and the butt dyno noticed a decent amount of improvement. I plan on running several tank fulls at this setting and then trying the premium gas setting.
Am very happy with it so far. The jeep doesn't seem to lug at highway speeds now and definately has more pulling power on acceleration and while off roading.

You can say it all you want but I have yet to see any hard data to support these claims. I would think that if their product was so great they would be eager to show it, yet they failed to respond to my request for dyno sheets!!! That smacks of snake oil.
i got the hypertech.
not too pleased with it.
and their customer service wasn't the best...
gonna trade it in for the superchips.
i'd deal directly with them. they are based out of lake mary, florida for all you 'crackers'. i met them and they were really kind and gracious fellas.
-my two cents

For me, having had both programmers and using the data acquisition from the Superchips to do some 0-60mph data acquisition, case closed. My rig, 2 door, 6 spped, 35s, 3.73s, 3 runs with my former programmer produced a 0-60mph best time of 9.84 seconds. First run with the Superchips, 9.14 seconds. I never did a second run because that isn't the way I drive my Jeep but the difference was staggering and not unlike my initial impressions.
So take it for what it's worth. You can wait for a dyno sheet which to me is inconsequential, or take the advise of those who have both. Also take a look at the people who have owned other brands and what they have to say. It's a 50/50 proposition if anyone had noticeable results with the other programmers. With the Superchips there has been few if any who have said they didn't see an immediate improvement in not only performance, but the majority have seen mpg increases as well.

I'm not sure what you know of dynos, and how much different conditions can skew the results. If you control a test, you can get results that can steer you into making the appropriate changes to produce results. If I do a dyno locally on one give machine and someone else does it 1500 miles away on another without notes on how they were performed, ie hood up/hood down, vehicle temperature, air temperature and so forth, there can be very different results.
